  • Jaguars' Bhayshul Tuten: Could lead Etienne-less RB room

Tuten will likely see a similar workload to Chris Rodriguez as the leaders of Jacksonville's new-look backfield, John Shipley of SI.com reports.

Tuten finished second on the team in carries as a rookie during the regular season, as the 2025 fourth-round pick rushed 83 times for 307 yards and five touchdowns while working as the backup to Travis Etienne, who subsequently signed a four-year contract with the Saints in free agency. Jacksonville brought in Rodriguez on a two-year, $10-million contract but didn't draft any running backs, setting Tuten and Rodriguez up to split most of the carries ahead of passing-down specialists LeQuint Allen and DeeJay Dallas.

  • Jaguars' Bhayshul Tuten: Maintains backup role

Tuten finished the 2025 season with 307 yards and five touchdowns on 83 rushing attempts. He also had 10 catches for 79 yards and two touchdowns in 15 regular-season games.

A finger injury kept Tuten out for two games in 2025. When available, the fourth-round rookie carried the ball in every game he appeared in during the season, with his most impactful game occurring in Week 11, when he had 15 attempts. Travis Etienne remained the starter for the entirety of the season, but he is expected to be an unrestricted free agent in March. Should Etienne leave, Tuten could have an opportunity for a larger role in 2026.

  • Jaguars' Bhayshul Tuten: Scores TD in win

Tuten rushed five times for 23 yards and one touchdown in the Jaguars' 41-7 win over the Titans on Sunday.

Tuten carried the ball five times behind Travis Etienne's 14, but it was Tuten who scored a touchdown in this one, as he punched in a five-yard score in the fourth quarter of the blowout win. Tuten will handle RB2 duties behind Etienne for next weekend's wild-card matchup with the Bills.

  • Jaguars' Bhayshul Tuten: Full practice Wednesday

Tuten (finger) is not listed on Wednesday's injury report.

Tuten has missed back-to-back games due to a lingering finger injury, but it looks as though he's fully on track to return as the top backup behind Travis Etienne for Sunday's regular-season finale against the Titans. Jacksonville can clinch the AFC South title with a victory at home against Tennessee on Sunday, and against the 3-13 Titans, there could be plenty of backfield production to go around.
