The Cowboys signed Mims on Thursday, Todd Archer of ESPN.com reports.
The 2020 second-round pick played three years for the Jets before bouncing around practice squads for the next two years. Mims played the 2025 and 2026 seasons in the UFL, accumulating 11 receptions for 110 yards over 11 games split between the Battlehawks and Renegades. Denzel Mims: Cut by Jacksonville
The Jaguars released Mims on Sunday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
A second-round draft pick of the Jets in 2020, Mims boasts an intriguing size and speed profile but hasn't been able to translate it into meaningful success at the NFL level. The 26-year-old Mims hasn't seen NFL action since the 2022 season and could be running out of opportunities. He's now been cut by three organizations since the Jets traded him to the Lions last summer, with Detroit, Pittsburgh and Jacksonville having moved on from Mims without him appearing in a regular-season game for any of them.

Jaguars' Denzel Mims: Finds chance in Jacksonville
Mims is slated to sign with the Jaguars, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Mims was waived by Pittsburgh on Tuesday, but he's quickly found a new opportunity to compete. He logged time on the Steelers practice squad last season, though he never suited up for a game with the team. The 2020 second-round pick spent the first three seasons of his NFL career with the Jets, before being traded to the Lions during the 2023 offseason, then failing to make Detroit's roster.

Denzel Mims: Let go by Pittsburgh
The Steelers waived Mims on Tuesday, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.
Mims spent his first three seasons with the Jets before being traded to Detroit in July of 2023. The 2020 second-round pick was eventually waived with a calf injury by the Lions ahead of last season. He then went unsigned before linking up with Pittsburgh's practice squad in October, though he never appeared in a game for the Steelers during the 2023 campaign and signed a future/reserves contract in January. Mims recorded 11 catches for 186 yards over 10 games during the 2022 season.

The Lions waived Mims (calf) from injured reserve with an injury settlement Thursday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Detroit traded for Mims just ahead of training camp, but he couldn't stay on the field due to an ankle issue and then sustained a calf injury while rehabbing. The 2020 second-round pick will now have a chance to choose his next destination should he clear waivers.

Lions' Denzel Mims: Heads to injured reserve
Mims (calf) reverted to the Lions' injured reserve Saturday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Mims dealt with an ankle injury prior to hurting his calf, a combination that has sent him to IR. He'll thus have to miss the entire 2023 season unless he and the Lions agree to terms of an injury settlement. Prior to getting shipped from New York to Detroit in July, the 2020 second-round pick recorded 42 catches in 30 games across three seasons with the Jets.
