Shyheim Carter: Signs with practice squad
The Titans signed Carter to their practice squad Tuesday, Jim Wyatt of the team's official site reports.
Carter was cut by the Titans with an injury settlement in August, after he had spent much of the offseason with the team. He'll now be a candidate for a promotion to the team's active roster should any of Tennessee's defensive backs miss time. Carter has yet to make his NFL debut, as he's joined each of the Jets', Texans' and Titans' practice squads since 2020.

Shyheim Carter: Waived Monday
Carter (undisclosed) was waived with an injury settlement Monday, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.
Carter signed with the Titans in January in pursuit of making his NFL debut after previously spending time with the Jets and Texans. Once the terms of his injury settlement are completed, he'll be free to pursue other options elsewhere.

The Texans released Carter from the practice squad Tuesday, Brooks Kubena of the Houston Chronicle reports.
The Texans made a few roster moves involving their practice squad, including the signing of center Cole Toner, which prompted Carter's release.

Carter impressed in rookie minicamp with the team and has earned a contract as a result. He'll hope to make the team as a depth piece in the secondary.

Jets' Shyheim Carter: Back to full health
The Jets activated Carter (illness) from the reserve/COVID-19 list Saturday, Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Carter has been on the list since July 30, but he's recorded enough negative tests to return to team facilities. The undrafted rookie out of Alabama will seek a depth role in the Jets' secondary, and he'll need to contribute on special teams as well.
