Damon Hazelton: Waived by Houston
Hazelton was waived by the Texans on Tuesday, Adam Wexler of SportsTalk790 reports.
Hazelton spent most of his 2021 rookie season on and off Houston's practice squad before signing a reserve/future contract with the team in January. The undrafted wideout out of Missouri was presumably waived to help make room for newly signed cornerback Fabian Moreau on the Texan's 90-man offseason roster. Hazelton will now have a chance to get picked up off waivers and compete for a roster spot with a new team this offseason.

Texans' Damon Hazelton: Lands contract with Texans
The Texans signed Hazelton to a reserve/future contract Monday, Aaron Wilson of Sportstalk 790 Houston reports.
Hazelton spent most of the 2021 campaign on the Texans' practice squad after he was waived by Green Bay prior to the regular season. Although he failed to appear in any games, he'll have the chance to compete for a role during the offseason.

Hazelton rejoins the Texans' practice squad after being cut Dec. 8. The undrafted rookie was originally signed by Houston before being cut Aug. 11, where he then headed to Green Bay before linking back up with the Texans on Oct. 6. He'll hope to stick around longer this time and eventually earn a shot on the active roster.

The Texans signed Hazelton to their practice squad Wednesday, Aaron Wilson of SportsTalk 790 reports.
Hazelton spent the majority of training camp with the Texans, but he was waived and picked up by the Packers in August. However, he didn't make Green Bay's roster and has been looking for a job since. The undrafted rookie will compete with Davion Davis, whom the Texans just signed off the Browns' practice squad, for a depth role on the active roster.

The Packers waived Hazelton on Tuesday, Ryan Wood of the Green Bay Press-Gazette reports.
Hazelton wasn't drafted in the 2021 NFL Draft, but he still proceeded to sign with the Texans, where he was later waived. The receiver then joined the Packers late in training camp and played in a couple preseason games. However, Green Bay's crowded receiving corps forced Hazelton out of a job. The rookie figures to try to make another team's roster or practice squad before the start of the season.

Hazelton originally signed with the Texans after going undrafted this past offseason. He played his final collegiate season as a grad transfer at Missouri after three seasons with Virginia Tech. He accumulated 2,231 yards and 21 touchdowns on 163 receptions during his college career.

Hazelton signed with Houston as a UDFA in the spring but will be let go after going through the first couple weeks of training camp. He appeared in eight games during his final collegiate season at Missouri in 2020 and caught 30 passes for 397 yards and a touchdown.

The Texans signed Hazelton as an undrafted rookie Friday.
Hazelton played a role as a big-bodied specialist for contested catches during his collegiate career. After initially joining Ball State back in 2016, Hazelton transferred to Virginia Tech. He was thus forced to sit out the 2017 season, but from 2018-19 he logged back-to-back All-ACC seasons for Virginia Tech. In 2020, he joined Missouri as a graduate transfer and started four of nine games.
