    Hazelton was waived by the Texans on Tuesday, Adam Wexler of SportsTalk790 reports.

    Hazelton spent most of his 2021 rookie season on and off Houston's practice squad before signing a reserve/future contract with the team in January. The undrafted wideout out of Missouri was presumably waived to help make room for newly signed cornerback Fabian Moreau on the Texan's 90-man offseason roster. Hazelton will now have a chance to get picked up off waivers and compete for a roster spot with a new team this offseason.

    Hazelton spent most of the 2021 campaign on the Texans' practice squad after he was waived by Green Bay prior to the regular season. Although he failed to appear in any games, he'll have the chance to compete for a role during the offseason.

    Hazelton played a role as a big-bodied specialist for contested catches during his collegiate career. After initially joining Ball State back in 2016, Hazelton transferred to Virginia Tech. He was thus forced to sit out the 2017 season, but from 2018-19 he logged back-to-back All-ACC seasons for Virginia Tech. In 2020, he joined Missouri as a graduate transfer and started four of nine games.
