Lakers' RJ Davis: Sparks bench in preseason loss
Davis finished Friday's 103-81 preseason loss to Phoenix with 14 points (5-8 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 3-3 FT) and one steal.
Davis ended up leading the Lakers bench in scoring and finished second on the team in that category behind Austin Reaves (20). Davis signed an Exhibition 10 contract with the Lakers in late June and is considered a longshot to make the 15-man roster at the end of training camp, but more strong performances like Friday would certainly help him make his case.

Lakers' RJ Davis: Efficient shooting in loss
Davis finished with 17 points (6-11 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 2-2 FT), one rebound, three assists and one steal across 25 minutes during Friday's 106-84 Summer League loss to the Nuggets.
Davis was incredibly efficient during his last outing in the Las Vegas Summer League, shooting 54.5 percent from the floor and 60 percent from deep. The North Carolina product has a knack for scoring and has an Exhibit 10 contract with his current squad, as he'll attempt to make his presence known during training camp and the NBA preseason.

Lakers' RJ Davis: Inks deal with Lakers
Davis agreed to an Exhibit 10 contract with Los Angeles on Thursday, Dave McMenamin of ESPN.com reports.
Davis will have an opportunity to compete for a roster spot after putting pen to paper with the Lakers. The former Tar Heel possesses plenty of firepower on the offensive end, where he averaged 17.2 points in 37 matchups a season ago with North Carolina, though his efficiency from three dipped notably during his senior year.
