Bey amassed 21 points (6-9 FG, 4-6 3Pt, 5-7 FT), six rebounds and three assists across 21 minutes in Saturday's 127-92 exhibition game win over the Melbourne Phoenix.
Bey led all players in scoring, bouncing back after going 0-for-3 with zero points in Friday's win over Melbourne United. After missing the entire 2024-25 campaign due to a torn ACL, the 26-year-old forward has an opportunity to carve out a meaningful role behind Herbert Jones (ankle) this season.

Pelicans' Saddiq Bey: Scoreless in fill-in start
Bey finished scoreless (0-3 FG, 0-1 3Pt) with two rebounds, one assist, one steal and one block across 21 minutes of Friday's 107-97 preseason win over Melbourne United.
Bey, who missed the entire 2024-25 season with a torn left ACL, saw his first taste of live action since his surgery during the preseason opener. He started in place of the injured Herbert Jones (ankle), and it's a good sign that Bey was able to play 21 minutes in his first game back. If the Pelicans are at 100 percent for Opening Night, Bey is likely to be one of the first wings off the bench.

Pelicans' Saddiq Bey: Says he's 100 percent
Bey, who missed the entire 2024-25 season with a torn left ACL, said Tuesday that he'll be ready for Opening Night.
Bey said the rehab process was long and that he's just grateful to be back on the court. Even though Bey said he'll be ready for Opening Night, it's fair to expect that the Pelicans will be cautious throughout training camp and the preseason as the team builds him back up. Bey is expected to be a key reserve on the wings behind Trey Murphy and Herbert Jones in 2025-26.

Pelicans' Saddiq Bey: Traded to New Orleans
The Wizards traded Bey (knee), Jordan Poole (elbow) and the No. 40 pick in the 2025 NBA Draft to the Pelicans on Tuesday in exchange for CJ McCollum (foot), Kelly Olynyk (heel) and a future second-round pick, ESPN's Shams Charania reports.
Bey missed the entire 2024-25 season with a torn left ACL, though he's expected to make a full recovery ahead of Opening Night in 2025-26. Bey, who turned 26 back in April, could carve out a decent rotation role on the wings in New Orleans. The wing holds career averages of 14.1 points, 5.2 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 0.8 steals while shooting 35.2 percent from beyond the arc.
