Pelicans' Jeremiah Fears: Poor shooting display in loss
Fears closed Saturday's 115-98 loss to the Hawks with 11 points (5-13 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 1-2 FT), four rebounds, four assists, one block and one steal in 31 minutes.
Fears didn't have his best performance, and while he still posted a solid line across the board, his lack of efficiency as a shooter limited his upside. This 11-point effort snapped Fears' run of eight games with at least 15 points, but based on the way he's been playing of late, the rookie out of Oklahoma should continue to work as one of the Pelicans' main fantasy options every time New Orleans steps on the hardwood.

Pelicans' Jeremiah Fears: Remains productive despite loss
Fears contributed 21 points (8-12 FG, 3-4 3Pt, 2-5 FT), seven rebounds, two assists and four steals over 32 minutes during Friday's 118-115 loss to the Mavericks.
Fears came close to matching his previous career-high mark, a 24-point effort he delivered in a loss to the Thunder on Nov. 17, and the rookie continues to thrive while handling a prominent role on offense for the Pelicans. This was the eighth straight game in which Fears reached the 15-point mark, averaging 18.1 points, 3.5 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 2.1 steals per game during that span.

Pelicans' Jeremiah Fears: Scores career-high 24 in loss
Fears provided 24 points (9-16 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 4-5 FT), one rebound and one assist in 25 minutes during Monday's 126-109 loss to the Thunder.
Fears had to shoulder the offensive workload Monday with Zion Williamson (hamstring), Jordan Poole (quadriceps) and Saddiq Bey (ankle) all sidelined. He did not disappoint, setting a new career high in scoring. The rookie has been phenomenal since joining the starting lineup, averaging 15.3 points, 3.1 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 1.8 steals, 0.1 blocks and 1.4 threes made in his last 12 games.

Pelicans' Jeremiah Fears: Scores 19 in loss Friday
Fears finished with 19 points (8-16 FG, 2-2 3Pt, 1-2 FT), four rebounds, three assists and seven steals across 29 minutes during Friday's 118-104 loss to the Lakers.
Fears continues to produce at a high level for the Pelicans despite being a rookie, and the former Oklahoma star remains consistent even if his shooting numbers are subpar. Fears has scored in double digits in nine games in a row and has reached the 15-point plateau six times in that span, and the Pelicans will continue to put the ball in his hands as long as he remains productive -- even if that means living with the efficiency problems that are common in rookies.

Pelicans' Jeremiah Fears: Struggles with shot Monday
Fears contributed 15 points (4-13 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 4-4 FT), two rebounds, one assist and two steals over 31 minutes during Monday's 121-98 loss to the Suns.
Fears came off the bench in his first two NBA games but quickly moved into a starting role and hasn't disappointed. The rookie has scored in double digits in seven consecutive outings, and although the efficiency has been lacking at times, Fears is finding ways to contribute. Since moving to a starting role, Fears is averaging 13.6 points, 3.0 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 1.6 steals per game, although he's shooting only 38.9 percent from the floor. The rookie out of Oklahoma is putting up solid numbers, but there's still plenty of room for improvement.

Pelicans' Jeremiah Fears: Scores 11 in win
Fears had 11 points (4-10 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 2-2 FT), three rebounds and one steal in 17 minutes during Tuesday's 116-112 victory over the Hornets.
Disregarding his shaky outing against Boston on Oct. 27, Fears has played quite well since being elevated to the starting lineup. He is averaging 15.3 points, 4.5 assists, 3.0 rebounds, 1.8 steals and 2.0 threes made in his last four starts. The rookie will continue to hold the starting point guard spot for New Orleans, and with Zion Williamson (hamstring) out for several days, his offensive volume should also increase until he returns.

Pelicans' Jeremiah Fears: Productive in OKC
Fears ended Sunday's 137-106 loss to Oklahoma City with 16 points (6-13 FG, 4-8 3Pt), four rebounds and four assists across 26 minutes.
The rookie point guard failed to record a steal for the first time since the Pelicans' season opener, but otherwise it was another productive effort from Fears, which included his best performance yet from beyond the arc. In four games since moving into the starting five, the Oklahoma product is averaging 13.0 points, 5.0 assists, 2.8 boards, 1.8 steals and 1.8 threes in 28.0 minutes a contest.

Pelicans' Jeremiah Fears: Teases double-double in third start
Fears supplied 13 points (4-14 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 3-3 FT), four rebounds, eight assists and four steals over 29 minutes during Friday's 126-124 loss to the Clippers.
Making his third straight start, Frears came close to producing his first career double-double as he led New Orleans in assists. The No. 7 pick in the 2025 Draft struggled in his first career start Monday, but he's scored at least 13 points in his other four games. The Pelicans seem committed to giving Frears all the responsibility he can handle -- at least until Dejounte Murray (Achilles) gets healthy.

Pelicans' Jeremiah Fears: Starting Monday
Fears will move into the starting lineup for Monday's matchup with the Celtics, Will Guillory of The Athletic reports.
Fears, who has looked solid in his first two games, will be earning his first career start Monday evening. The Pelicans will be without Zion Williamson (foot), leaving a massive void to fill on offense, but Fears should see some of those shots trickling his way. Joining him in the first unit will be Jordan Poole, Herbert Jones, Trey Murphy and Saddiq Bey.

Pelicans' Jeremiah Fears: Struggles mightily in spot start
Fears posted two points (1-11 FG, 0-4 3Pt), two rebounds, two assists and one steal over 27 minutes during Monday's 122-90 loss to the Celtics.
The rookie looked good in his first two games, but he shriveled under the spotlight as a starter Monday night. He simply could not get anything going, as he missed all four of his three-point attempts and also committed more turnovers than assists. He also finished with a team-worst, plus-minus rating of minus-31, so it seems unlikely he'll be able to hold onto the starting role in New Orleans.

Pelicans' Jeremiah Fears: Notches 17 points in loss
Fears supplied 17 points (7-10 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 3-3 FT) and two assists across 18 minutes during Wednesday's 128-122 loss to Memphis.
Just like the preseason, Fears certainly wasn't shy in his first regular-season action. He hoisted up 10 shots in his 18 minutes, giving the second unit a huge lift. If Fears' minutes trend up at the expense of someone like Jordan Hawkins, the rookie could have a nice little role in this new-look offense.

Pelicans' Jeremiah Fears: Puts up 20 points in loss
Fears produced 20 points (8-15 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 2-2 FT), six rebounds, four assists and two steals across 22 minutes of Tuesday's 130-128 preseason loss to the Rockets.
This was close to a dress rehearsal from the Pelicans, although the minutes were spread out pretty evenly across the board. Fears and Saddiq Bey appeared to be the primary weapons for the second unit, and the rookie once again wasn't shy from the field with 15 shot attempts to lead the team. The No. 7 overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft, Fears is likely to have a big opportunity early on due to Dejounte Murray (Achilles) likely being out until at least January.

Pelicans' Jeremiah Fears: Efficient in win Saturday
Fears ended Saturday's 127-92 exhibition game win over the Melbourne Phoenix with 12 points (5-10 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 1-1 FT), three assists and one rebound across 24 minutes.
After coming off the bench in Friday's win over Melbourne United and shooting just 3-for-15 from the field, Fears bounced back in the starting lineup. The No. 7 overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft is expected to take on a meaningful role off the bench this season, especially with Dejounte Murray (Achilles) not expected to return until at least January.

Pelicans' Jeremiah Fears: Attempts 15 shots in win
Fears logged seven points (3-15 FG, 0-6 3Pt, 1-2 FT), three rebounds, three assists and five turnovers in 22 minutes of Friday's 107-97 preseason win over Melbourne United.
Fears came off the bench, but he certainly wasn't shy. The rookie led the team in shot attempts, and it's vehemently clear that he's going to have the green light on offense. This was a poor showing, however, and the learning curve for rookie guards is steep. It will be interesting to see how quickly he finds his footing with the second unit.
