Flames' Rory Kerins: Waived by Calgary
Kerins was placed on waivers by the Flames on Thursday.
Kerins made his NHL debut last year, but he'll begin the 2025-26 regular season in the minors if he clears waivers. However, he was a strong contributor for AHL Calgary last year, so he should be in the mix to be called up if the Flames need additional forward depth at any point.

Flames' Rory Kerins: Signs one-year contract
Kerins penned a one-year, two-way contract with Calgary on Thursday.
Kerins led the AHL Wranglers in scoring last year during the regular season, potting 33 goals and adding 28 assists across 63 games. He made his NHL debut with the Flames last season, generating four assists in five games. Kerins is a bubble player at this time, but a strong training camp could garner him a job as a third-line winger.

Flames' Rory Kerins: Reassigned to minors
Kerins was sent down to AHL Calgary on Monday.
The decision to demote Kerins could simply be a paper transaction, with the youngster coming back up before Tuesday's game against Washington. Alternatively, the Flames could bring back somebody else after Kerins was a healthy scratch for the previous two contests. When he has played, the 22-year-old winger has been fairly productive, notching four assists in five games.

Flames' Rory Kerins: Two helpers in NHL debut
Kerins picked up two assists in Monday's 5-2 win over Chicago.
Making his NHL debut, the 22-year-old flashed immediate chemistry on a line with Yegor Sharangovich and Jakob Pelletier, as the trio combined for three goals and seven points. Kerins was on fire at AHL Calgary prior to his promotion, erupting for a league-leading 21 goals and 34 points in 34 games, and the 2020 sixth-round pick doesn't seem inclined to slow down now that he's getting a crack at the top level.
