Flames' Hunter Brzustewicz: Nets two goals in AHL win
Brzustewicz scored twice in AHL Calgary's 4-3 win over Coachella Valley on Saturday.
Brzustewicz is showing plenty of offense early in the AHL campaign, logging three goals and three helpers over six contests. The 20-year-old defenseman still needs some time in the AHL, but if the struggling Flames start selling early this year, he could be in line for a call-up, especially if Rasmus Andersson is one of the players on the move. Like Andersson, Brzustewicz is a right-shot defenseman.

Flames' Hunter Brzustewicz: Sent back down
Brzustewicz was assigned to AHL Calgary on Friday.
Brzustewicz made his NHL debut Thursday against the Kings and recorded a hit, two PIM and a plus-2 rating while being held pointless in 18:23 of ice time. However, he'll head back to the minors to help the Wranglers in the Calder Cup Playoffs.

Flames' Hunter Brzustewicz: Called up by NHL club
Brzustewicz was recalled from AHL Calgary on Wednesday.
Brzustewicz hasn't yet made his NHL debut, but he'll join the Flames ahead of Thursday's regular-season finale in Los Angeles. Over 69 appearances with the Wranglers this year, he's recorded five goals, 26 assists and 12 PIM.

Brzustewicz's numbers may not blow away fantasy managers, but the 2023 third-round pick is looking solid in his first professional campaign. Even with the decent production, the 20-year-old defenseman is unlikely to earn a call-up this season or will serve as little more than an emergency depth option if he does.

Flames' Hunter Brzustewicz: Inks entry-level deal
Brzustewicz signed a three-year, entry-level contract with the Flames on Thursday.
Brzustewicz was included in the package Calgary received from Vancouver in the Elias Lindholm trade. The 2023 third-round pick has spent the 2023-24 campaign with the OHL's Kitchener Rangers, racking up 12 goals and 85 points through 62 contests. The 19-year-old defender could make the jump to the AHL in 2024-25, but he could also end up spending another season in the OHL.
