  • Blues' Jimmy Snuggerud: Okay after injury scare

Head coach Jim Montgomery said Friday that Snuggerud (undisclosed) is fine after he went into the boards during practice Wednesday, Lou Korac of NHL.com reports. Snuggerud is expected to start the season on the top line alongside Robert Thomas and Pavel Buchnevich. The 21-year-old had a goal and three assists in seven NHL regular-season games after leaving the University of Minnesota following his junior year. Snuggerud had 24 goals and 27 assists in 40 NCAA games in 2024-25 and should be in consideration for the Calder Trophy this season.

  • Blues' Jimmy Snuggerud: Considered day-to-day

Snuggerud exited practice Wednesday and is day-to-day with an undisclosed injury, Lou Korac of NHL.com reports. Snuggerud played in 14 regular-season and playoff games for the Blues last year in which he garnered three goals, five assists and 22 shots while averaging 16:16 of ice time. Barring a lengthy injury absence, the 21-year-old winger should start the 2025-26 campaign filling a top-six role for the Blues and should be capable of challenging for the 30-goal threshold.

  • Blues' Jimmy Snuggerud: Scores in Wednesday's loss

Snuggerud scored a goal on two shots and added two hits in Wednesday's 5-3 loss to the Jets in Game 5. Snuggerud tied the game at 2-2 in the second period, but the Jets pulled ahead for good about five minutes later. Snuggerud is up to two goals, one assist, seven shots on net and a plus-1 rating over five playoff outings. He continues to offer some upside as a scoring option in DFS while playing in a top-line role, but the Blues are facing elimination in Friday's Game 6.

  • Blues' Jimmy Snuggerud: Sets up opening tally

Snuggerud registered an assist and went plus-3 in Thursday's 7-2 win over the Jets in Game 3. Snuggerud has a goal, an assist, three shots on net, three blocked shots and a plus-1 rating over three playoff contests. The 20-year-old winger set up a Pavel Buchnevich tally just 48 seconds into this game. Snuggerud isn't exactly being sheltered in the playoffs -- he's seeing consistent top-six minutes and power-play time, and so far, he's looked up to the challenge.

  • Blues' Jimmy Snuggerud: Nets lone goal on power play

Snuggerud scored a power-play goal on two shots and blocked two shots in Monday's 2-1 loss to the Jets in Game 2. Snuggerud was responsible for allowing the Jets to open the scoring, but he made up for it with a buzzer beater at the end of the first period to tie the game at 1-1. The 20-year-old winger saw 20:01 of ice time in this contest, a career high in just nine appearances between the regular season and playoffs. He's earned two goals, three assists and 13 shots on net in that span. Snuggerud is an interesting DFS play for the remainder of the first round, but the Blues are down 2-0 in the series, so their playoff run may not be a long one.

  • Blues' Jimmy Snuggerud: First goal of NHL career

Snuggerud scored a power-play goal and delivered an even-strength assist in Tuesday's 6-1 win over Utah. The 20-year-old prospect made his NHL debut April 1 and capped off the regular season in style by scoring the first goal of his career. He recorded four points in seven regular-season appearances, but it's unclear what kind of role he might have in the playoffs. That said, he certainly stepped up down the stretch and performed at a high level -- relative to his age and experience -- in games where the Blues needed to clinch points.

  • Blues' Jimmy Snuggerud: Adds assist in win

Snuggerud logged an assist in Saturday's 5-4 win over the Avalanche. Snuggerud has a helper in two of his first three NHL appearances after finding Pavel Buchnevich for the Blues' third goal Saturday. The 20-year-old Snuggerud has fit right in and is getting a chance at top-six minutes in the absence of Dylan Holloway (lower body). In addition to the two helpers, Snuggerud has four shots on net, a blocked shot and a minus-1 rating. Although he hasn't recorded a power-play point yet, he is averaging 2:04 with the man advantage, so the 20-year-old is getting a golden opportunity.

  • Blues' Jimmy Snuggerud: Collects first NHL helper

Snuggerud notched an assist and two shots on goal in Thursday's 5-4 overtime win over the Penguins. Snuggerud's first NHL point was the primary assist on a Jake Neighbours tally in the third period. This was Snuggerud's second game since he signed with the Blues following his junior year at the University of Minnesota. He's immediately jumped into a top-six role with power-play time while joining the Blues at the high point of their season -- they've won 11 straight contests. As long as he can keep pace, he'll stay in the lineup as the team continues its playoff push.
