Sharks' Yaroslav Askarov: Guarding cage Wednesday
Askarov will tend the twine at home versus the Ducks on Wednesday, Curtis Pashelka of The San Jose Mercury News reports.
Askarov gave up four goals on 26 shots (.846 save percentage) against the Blues on Monday but came away with the win. It seems that victory was enough to keep him in the crease for the first game of the Sharks' back-to-back. As such, fantasy managers can expect to see Alex Nedlejkovic feature in Thursday's home game against the Maple Leafs.

Sharks' Yaroslav Askarov: Earns win over St. Louis
Askarov stopped 22 of 26 shots in Monday's 5-4 win over the Blues.
Askarov was beaten at least once in each period, and while the game looked destined to go into overtime, a late strike from Adam Gaudette allowed Askarov to earn his first win in regulation since March 3. Askarov has been limited to just two appearances over the Sharks' last 10 games due to injuries, but if he manages to stay healthy down the stretch, he should get a fair amount of work between the pipes. Askarov owns a 3.54 GAA over seven appearances since the Olympic break while posting a subpar .875 save percentage, so the combination of below-average save numbers and limited availability doesn't bode well for his upside.

Sharks' Yaroslav Askarov: Exits Thursday's game
Askarov won't return to Thursday's game versus the Blues after sustaining an apparent upper-body injury.
Askarov seemed to indicate an issue with his neck after getting run into in his crease during the second period. He stopped all 11 shots he faced prior to his exit, and Alex Nedeljkovic replaced him between the pipes. Askarov was making his return from a lower-body injury that cost him seven contests. If he is forced to miss more time, Laurent Brossoit is likely to be recalled from AHL San Jose to fill the backup role. The Sharks visit the Blue Jackets on Saturday.

Sharks' Yaroslav Askarov: Tending twine Thursday
Askarov will patrol the crease on the road versus the Blues on Thursday, Sheng Peng of San Jose Hockey Now reports.
Askarov last featured for the Sharks back on March 10 versus the Sabres, a stretch of seven games on the shelf due to his lower-body injury. Prior to getting hurt, the netminder had allowed at least three goals in 22 of his last 24 outings, posting a 10-11-2 record and 4.01 GAA. With the amount of offensive support the Sharks can offer these days -- 3.03 goals per game -- Askarov doesn't need to be perfect but will need to be better to get them into the playoffs in the future.

Sharks' Yaroslav Askarov: Wins tough game Tuesday
Askarov allowed five goals on 37 shots in Tuesday's 7-5 win over the Canadiens.
It wasn't a pretty outing, as the Sharks blew a 5-2 lead at one point, but Askarov was able to get his second win in a row. He's still allowed at least three goals in six straight outings, going 2-3-1 in that span. For the season, the 23-year-old netminder is up to 19-16-2 with a 3.57 GAA and an .886 save percentage over 38 starts. Askarov is a risky option in most fantasy formats, but he's still seeing a majority of the starts over Alex Nedeljkovic, so the former's value comes mainly from usage rather than performance.
