Ducks' Jansen Harkins: Officially on injured reserve
Harkins (upper body) was placed on injured reserve Thursday.
Harkins' move to IR is simply a formality, as he is expected to be out until late November at a minimum. Once healthy, he should be able to enter the mix for a fourth-line spot, but it wouldn't be surprising to see him get waived or end up as a healthy scratch.

Ducks' Jansen Harkins: Set to miss next eight weeks
Harkins (upper body) is expected to be unavailable for about eight weeks, the Ducks announced Saturday.
Harkins had two goals, six points, 21 PIM and 136 hits in 62 appearances with Anaheim in 2024-25. When he's healthy, Harkins might serve in a bottom-six capacity, but it's also possible that he'll spend time in the minors.

Ducks' Jansen Harkins: Being re-evaluated
Harkins (upper body) is expected to be re-evaluated Wednesday night to get another opinion on his injury, per Zach Cavanagh of The Sporting Tribune.
Head coach Joel Quenneville initially wasn't optimistic about Harkins' status after the injury was sustained Sunday, but Quenneville suggested Wednesday that it might "not be as bad as we originally thought, but we'll see." The 28-year-old Harkins had two goals, six points, 21 PIM and 136 hits in 62 appearances with Anaheim last year.

Ducks' Jansen Harkins: Could have serious injury
Harkins exited Sunday's preseason outing versus the Kings because of an upper-body injury, and head coach Joel Quenneville said after the game that he isn't optimistic about the forward's status, according to Derek Lee of The Hockey News.
Harkins might be set to miss substantial time going forward, as he was spotted leaving the arena with his right arm in a sling, per Lee. Quenneville said the club will know more about Harkins' injury Monday. The 28-year-old registered two goals, six points and 136 hits over 62 appearances in his first season with the Ducks in 2024-25.

Ducks' Jansen Harkins: Drought continues Wednesday
Harkins' point drought is up to 23 games after he was held scoreless in Wednesday's 4-3 overtime win over the Flames.
Harkins has gotten a fair amount of time on the fourth line even late in the season. He was scratched versus the Oilers on Monday, but that was just his second trip to the press box since the start of March -- Brett Leason and Nikita Nesterenko have been scratched more frequently of late. However, Harkins is stuck on six points through 59 outings this season while adding 48 shots on net, 131 hits and a minus-13 rating. He'll likely end 2024-25 in a part-time role.

Ducks' Jansen Harkins: Holding onto fourth-line role
Harkins' point drought reached nine games in Friday's 4-3 loss to the Blues.
While Harkins isn't scoring, he's been in the lineup for six straight contests after being scratched four times in February. The 27-year-old is holding onto a fourth-line role over Ross Johnston for now, though Harkins is likely to face more pressure for ice time once Robby Fabbri (upper body) returns. Harkins has just six points with 34 shots on net, 102 hits, 16 PIM and a minus-6 rating over 45 appearances this season. It's better than his four-point showing over 45 contests with the Penguins last year, but it's far from enough to intrigue fantasy managers.

Ducks' Jansen Harkins: Rare two-point game
Harkins scored a goal, dished an assist and went plus-2 in Saturday's 5-2 win over the Predators.
Harkins had to settle for the secondary helper on Pavel Mintyukov's opening tally after creating some chaos in front of the net. Harkins was later rewarded with a goal of his own midway through the second period, which stood as the game-winner. The 27-year-old forward doesn't typically earn many points -- this was his first multi-point effort since May 1, 2022. In 2024-25, the fourth-line forward has six points, 29 shots on net, 85 hits and a minus-6 rating over 36 outings.

Ducks' Jansen Harkins: First goal of season Sunday
Harkins scored a goal while recording two shots, three hits and two blocked shots in Sunday's 3-2 overtime win over the Hurricanes.
Harkins found the twine for the first time in the 2024-25 campaign. It was also the first time he cracked the scoresheet since Dec. 22, when he delivered an assist in a 5-4 shootout win over Utah. He has four points in 30 games, though, so he's not much of a fantasy asset in most formats outside of leagues that reward physicality (77 hits, 22 blocked shots).

Ducks' Jansen Harkins: Nabs assist Sunday
Harkins provided an assist and two hits in Sunday's 5-4 shootout win over Utah.
Harkins has just two helpers to go with 26 hits and eight PIM over 10 games in December, but it's encouraging he's been a steady part of the lineup. He's been a fixture on the fourth line in that time and has little chance of being promoted to a more scoring-friendly spot. The 27-year-old has three assists, 52 hits, 14 blocked shots, 12 PIM and 11 shots on net through 19 outings overall.

Ducks' Jansen Harkins: Garners helper Monday
Harkins logged an assist and two PIM in Monday's 3-2 shootout loss to the Canadiens.
Harkins has been in the lineup steadily since mid-November, but he's in a fourth-line role on a low-scoring team. The 27-year-old has collected two assists 10 PIM, 36 hits and six shots on net through 13 appearances. Harkins will likely stay in the lineup at least until Leo Carlsson (upper body) can return. Since Harkins has crossed the 10-game mark since his last pass through waivers, he would need to be waived again to be sent back to AHL San Diego.

Ducks' Jansen Harkins: Nabs helper Friday
Harkins recorded an assist and two hits in Friday's 6-4 win over the Red Wings.
The helper was Harkins' first point at the NHL level over three appearances this season. The 27-year-old was limited to four assists over 45 contests in 2023-24 with the Penguins. Harkins will likely play until Mason McTavish (upper body) returns, though he could stick around with the big club since Robby Fabbri (knee) is likely to be out until around New Year's.

Harkins could be immediately pressed into service versus the Golden Knights on Wednesday if Mason McTavish (upper body) remains unavailable, in addition to Robby Fabbri (lower body), who has already been ruled out. The 27-year-old Harkins has been on a tear in the minors this year with 17 points in 11 games and offers 200 games of NHL experience for the Ducks' bottom-six if called upon to suit up Wednesday.

Ducks' Jansen Harkins: Reassigned to AHL
Harkins was sent to AHL San Diego on Saturday.
Harkins was recalled Friday and saw 10:11 of ice time, managing one shot on goal, one hit and a blocked shot. He could return Sunday as the Ducks face LA, depending on the injured status of Isac Lundestrom, who missed Friday's game with an upper-body injury.

Ducks' Jansen Harkins: Recalled Friday
Harkins was promoted from AHL San Diego on Friday, Derek Lee of The Hockey News reports.
Harkins' promotion comes as Isac Lundestrom sustained an upper-body injury in Wednesday's matchup with Utah. If there is an open spot in the lineup, it will likely come down to Harkins or Ross Johnston for a place on the fourth line alongside Brett Leason and Brock McGinn.

Ducks' Jansen Harkins: Placed on waivers Friday
The Ducks placed Harkins on waivers Friday, according to Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet.
This is a bit of a surprise as the Ducks inked Harkins to a two-year contract in the offseason. He had four assists in 45 regular-season games with the Penguins last season and should be sent to the minors, if he clears waivers.

Ducks' Jansen Harkins: Joining Anaheim
Harkins signed a two-year, $1.575 million contract with the Ducks on Tuesday.
Harkins got into 45 games with the Penguins last year, but he was limited to four assists without scoring a goal on 37 shots. He also had 74 hits, offering modest physicality. He'll likely be ticketed for a bottom-six role with the Ducks, as the team should be able to fill out its top six with a mix of young and veteran talent.

Penguins' Jansen Harkins: Ends season without scoring
Harkins failed to score a goal in 45 games with the Penguins in 2023-24, registering just four helpers over that span.
Harkins -- who was claimed off waivers by the Pens before the start of the season -- struggled with injuries throughout the 2023-24 campaign. The 26-year-old Cleveland native will head to free agency this offseason, and he may not have shown the team enough to earn a new deal.

Penguins' Jansen Harkins: Taken off injured reserve
Harkins (hand) has been taken off injured reserve ahead of Monday's game versus Nashville, per the NHL media site.
Harkins will likely play in a bottom-six role against the Predators, with both Emil Bemstrom and Valtteri Puustinen candidates to be dropped from the lineup. Before suffering his hand injury, Harkins was stuck in an 18-game point drought, and he has yet to score a goal in 43 games this season.
