Oilers' Trent Frederic: Secures long-term deal
Frederic inked an eight-year, $30.8 million contract with Edmonton on Friday, Darren Dreger of TSN reports.
Frederic played in just 23 games for the Oilers this year, including the postseason, after being acquired by the club at the trade deadline. Apparently, that was enough for the organization to commit to the 27-year-old center long term. In those outings, the St. Louis native generated one goal and three assists while dishing out 87 hits. It's that physicality that Frederic brings to the table as he heads into the 2025-26 campaign.

Frederic scored a goal on two shots and added an assist in Thursday's 6-4 win over the Kings in Game 6.
Frederic was one of five Oilers to put up multiple points in Thursday's series-clinching win. The 27-year-old has handled a third-line role since the start of the playoffs. He's picked up three points, eight shots on net, 19 hits and an even plus-minus rating over six appearances. Edmonton acquired Frederic (lower body), Max Jones and the rights to forward Petr Hauser on Tuesday in a three-team trade with Boston and New Jersey.
