McCann's goal officially clocked in at 4:56 of the extra session. He added three shots on net and two hits in the contest. The 29-year-old has a pair of goals, six shots, three hits and two blocked shots over two games this season while playing in his usual top-six role. His 22 goals last year were his fewest in a season with the Kraken, and that came on a 10.9 shooting percentage that was also on the low end. McCann could be poised for a bounce-back year as long as the lower-body injury that sidelined him in training camp doesn't rear its head again.

McCann scored a goal on three shots and blocked two shots in Thursday's 3-1 win over the Ducks.
McCann scored the Kraken's third goal at 4:25 of the third period. The 29-year-old saw 18:24 of ice time, which is more than he averaged last year (17:13 per game). McCann missed nearly all of training camp due to a lower-body injury, but it appears the Kraken were just making sure one of their top forwards would be ready for the regular season. He'll be a regular in the top six and on the power play throughout 2025-26.

McCann announced Wednesday that he'll undergo surgery Monday to address an undisclosed issue that he dealt with throughout the season, Curtis Crabtree of Fox 13 Seattle reports.
Although McCann appeared in all 82 games for the Kraken this season, he was apparently dealing with an undisclosed injury and will require approximately six weeks to recover during the offseason. However, it wouldn't be surprising to see him back in action once training camp begins ahead of the 2025-26 season. The 28-year-old recorded 22 goals, 39 assists, 50 blocked shots, 47 hits and 18 PIM while averaging 17:13 of ice time this year.

McCann posted 16 points over the last 14 contests of the campaign. McCann was able to poke in a puck late in the second period, but that was all the Kraken could put up against Adin Hill. A late surge -- six goals and 15 points over the last 12 games -- has gotten McCann to the 60-point mark this season. He's added 198 shots on net, 50 blocked shots, 47 hits and a plus-10 rating over 80 appearances. He's looked his best this year alongside Shane Wright and Andre Burakovsky, though McCann has been able to find success in a variety of spots in the lineup.

McCann opened and closed the scoring Saturday. He also helped out on an Andre Burakovsky tally in the first period. A late surge in 2024-25 has seen McCann rack up four goals and nine assists over his last nine contests. He reached the 20-goal mark Saturday, something he's done in all four years he's played with the Kraken. He's added 38 assists, 192 shots on net and a plus-12 rating across 77 appearances.
