Oilers' Mattias Janmark: Lands on injured reserve
Janmark (undisclosed) was placed on injured reserve Monday.
Janmark has dealt with an undisclosed injury over the past few days, and he's believed to have a return timetable of approximately 1-2 weeks. The 32-year-old will officially miss the start of the regular season, but he could return sometime around mid-October if he's able to meet his initial recovery timeline. James Hamblin was called up in a corresponding move Monday and could see playing time early in the regular season.

Oilers' Mattias Janmark: Could miss more than one week
Janmark (undisclosed) is believed to be one or two weeks away from returning, Tony Brar of Oilers TV reports Sunday.
Head coach Kris Knoblauch said Friday that Janmark was expected to miss about a week, but it's possible that the 32-year-old forward could be out slightly longer than that. It seems unlikely that he'll be able to suit up for Wednesday's Opening Night matchup against the Flames, but he'll likely be able to return to the ice without missing significant regular-season time.

Janmark will miss around one week of action according to head coach Kris Knoblauch, Jason Gregor of Sports 1440 Edmonton reports Friday.
If so, Janmark will miss Opening Night versus Calgary on Oct. 8. The 32-year-old veteran had two goals and 16 assists while averaging 13:18 of ice time across 80 regular-season games with the Oilers in 2024-25. He should see bottom-six minutes in 2025-26.
