Kings' Phillip Danault: Won't play Wednesday
Danault (illness) will not be in action versus the Panthers on Wednesday, Jared Shafran of LAKingsInsider.com reports.
Danault will miss his third straight game while battling the flu. The 32-year-old center has yet to find the back of the net in 30 games this year, though he has chipped in five assists, 42 shots and 22 hits along the way. With Danault on the shelf, Quinton Byfield and Alex Turcotte will hold down the middle-six center roles.

Danault will miss his second straight game due to his illness, and could be in danger of being sidelined versus the Panthers on Wednesday. The 32-year-old center has yet to find the back of the net this year, going 30 games without scoring a goal while earning just five assists. With Quinton Byfield (illness) also unavailable, the Kings will need to utilize both Jeff Malott and Andrei Kuzmenko on the fourth line.

Kings' Phillip Danault: Ends slump with helper
Danault produced an assist and went plus-3 in Saturday's 6-0 win over the Blackhawks.
The Kings' recent lack of offense had taken a massive toll on Danault. Prior to Saturday, they had scored just 20 goals over their last 10 games, and Danault hadn't been involved in any of them. Even with the slump busted, the 32-year-old center still sits at five assists, 42 shots on net, 22 hits, 10 blocked shots and a plus-4 rating over 28 appearances, production far too low to help in fantasy.

Kings' Phillip Danault: Can't find rhythm on offense
Danault's point drought reached nine games in Tuesday's 3-1 loss to the Capitals.
Stretching back to late October, Danault has just one assist over his last 16 outings. The 32-year-old center has slipped into a third-line role amid his struggles, and he didn't see any power-play time in Tuesday's contest. Danault has four helpers, 39 shots on net, 20 hits, 10 blocked shots and a plus-1 rating over 26 appearances. He's topped 40 points in four straight years, but he'd need a massive surge to get there in 2025-26.

Kings' Phillip Danault: Records helper in overtime loss
Danault notched an assist and three shots on goal in Saturday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Hurricanes.
Danault has earned two helpers through six contests so far. The 32-year-old center has been pressed into a larger role in the absence of Anze Kopitar (foot), who is week-to-week. Danault has added eight shots on net, 10 hits and a plus-1 rating. His defensive skills are good enough to handle top-six minutes, but don't expect him to be a big contributor on offense while also shutting down other teams' best players.

Kings' Phillip Danault: Offers assist Thursday
Danault logged an assist and two shots on goal in Thursday's 6-4 loss to the Oilers in Game 6.
Danault was productive in the playoffs, earning two goals, six assists, nine shots on net, 13 hits, 12 blocked shots and a plus-2 rating. The 32-year-old continues to slot in as the second-line center for the Kings, and while he's not the biggest scorer, he makes up for it with defense. His regular-season work -- 43 points in 80 games -- was his lowest output in any of his four years with the Kings. Danault is under contract at a reasonable $5.5 million cap hit for two more years, so there's every expectation he'll be back with his usual two-way duties in 2025-26.

Danault logged two assists, five shots on goal and six blocked shots in Sunday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Oilers in Game 4.
Danault has three multi-point efforts over four playoff games. He's amassed two goals, five assists, seven shots on net, six hits, 11 blocked shots and a plus-3 rating this postseason. The second-line center plays a massive defensive role for the Kings, though his recent success on offense is enough to make him an option in DFS.

Kings' Phillip Danault: Stays warm with two assists
Danault notched two assists, including one on the power play, and five blocked shots in Friday's 7-4 loss to the Oilers in Game 3.
Danault has turned up the offense in the postseason, earning two goals and three assists over the first three games of the playoffs. He's also posted two shots on net, six hits, five blocked shots and a plus-2 rating. While Anze Kopitar and Adrian Kempe have gotten most of the headlines in this high-scoring series, Danault's steady two-way play makes him a reliable value pick in DFS contests.

Kings' Phillip Danault: Adds power-play helper in win
Danault logged a power-play assist and two hits in Wednesday's 6-2 win over the Oilers in Game 2.
Danault helped out on a Brandt Clarke tally in the first period. The assist was Danault's third point over two playoff outings after his heroic two-goal effort in Game 1. The center is filling a middle-six role and should provide decent secondary scoring while also offering elite defensive work against the Oilers' top players.

Kings' Phillip Danault: Plays hero role in Game 1
Danault scored two goals and racked up three hits in Monday's 6-5 win over the Oilers in Game 1.
Danault was the hero for the Kings in this series opener, as he came through in the final seconds of the third period to give Los Angeles the win after the team blew up a four-goal lead. Danault is not expected to be a go-to scoring option for the Kings on a regular basis, however, as evidenced by the fact that he found the back of the net a mere eight times in 80 regular-season appearances. That said, he was at the right place at the right time to propel the Kings to victory in this high-scoring matchup.

Danault registered an assist in Thursday's 4-2 win over Utah.
Danault set up Trevor Moore's tally in the third period, which was the game-winner. Over the last eight games, Danault has two goals and four assists, providing a little more balance to his offense than earlier in the season when he was heavily tilted toward helpers. The center has eight tallies, 32 assists, 117 shots on net, 78 hits, 69 blocked shots and a plus-17 rating over 74 appearances. This is the seventh time Danault has reached the 40-point mark, including all four of his years with the Kings.

Kings' Phillip Danault: Opens scoring in blowout win
Danault scored a goal and added two PIM in Sunday's 8-1 win over the Sharks.
Danault remains warm on offense -- he got on the scoresheet for the fifth time in six games. In that span, he has two goals and three assists. The 32-year-old center is up to eight goals, 39 points, 116 shots on net, 77 hits, 68 blocked shots and a plus-16 rating over 72 appearances. He won't get to the 50-point mark in 2024-25, but it's another solid campaign for him in a middle-six role.

Kings' Phillip Danault: Nets game-winner on power play
Danault scored a power-play goal on three shots, added three hits and blocked two shots in Tuesday's 3-1 win over the Rangers.
Danault has gotten on the scoresheet in three straight games, though this was his first power-play point of the campaign despite a steady role on the second unit. The goal was his seventh of the year, and three of them have been game-winners. The center is at 37 points, 114 shots on net, 73 hits, 66 blocked shots and a plus-16 rating over 69 appearances. He's not an elite scorer by any means, but he's warmed up recently after being tough to roster for much of the season due to inconsistency.

Kings' Phillip Danault: Picks up 30th assist of season
Danault logged an assist in Sunday's 7-2 win over the Bruins.
Danault has a helper in each of the last two contests, though he was on a four-game slump prior to that. The 32-year-old center has reached the 30-assist mark for the third year in a row and the fifth time in his career, but it's hard to celebrate that milestone since his goal-scoring has taken a nosedive in 2024-25. He's at 36 points, 111 shots on net, 70 hits, 64 blocked shots and a plus-16 rating through 68 appearances.
