Top Zach Hyman News

  • Oilers' Zach Hyman: Status uncertain for training camp

Hyman (wrist) said Wednesday that he isn't sure whether he'll be ready for training camp, Jason Gregor of Sports 1440 Edmonton reports.

Hyman is unavailable for the Stanley Cup Finals against the Panthers due to a wrist injury that he sustained last week that required surgery. The 32-year-old revealed Wednesday that he suffered a dislocated wrist and also tore some ligaments in his wrist, leaving his availability for training camp up in the air.

  • Oilers' Zach Hyman: Headed for surgery

Hyman (upper body) will undergo surgery Wednesday and will miss the remainder of the postseason, Jason Gregor of Sports 1440 Edmonton reports.

Hyman's postseason will end with the 32-year-old winger having generated five goals and six helpers in 15 outings. For now, there has been no indication whether this will impact the Toronto native's availability for the start of the 2025-26 campaign. Without Hyman in the lineup, Viktor Arvidsson could be pressed into a top-six role after having been a healthy scratch for five games.

  • Oilers' Zach Hyman: Ruled out for Thursday

Hyman (upper body) will not be in action versus the Stars in Game 5 on Thursday, Jason Gregor of Sports 1440 Edmonton reports.

Hyman's availability for the rest of the Western Conference Finals is certainly in doubt after he suffered an upper-body injury in Game 4 on Tuesday. Without Hyman in the lineup, the Oilers may have to turn to Jeff Skinner for the first time since the opening game of the playoffs -- especially if Connor Brown (undisclosed) remains sidelined as well.

  • Oilers' Zach Hyman: Exits Game 4

Hyman sustained an apparent upper-body injury in Tuesday's Game 4 versus the Stars and won't return to the contest, Emily Kaplan of ESPN reports.

Hyman got tangled up with Mason Marchment in the first period, and the Edmonton winger came away worse for wear. He was ruled out during the first intermission, which is a little concerning considering the Oilers are not typically forthcoming with injury updates. If Hyman can't play in Game 5 on Thursday, Jeff Skinner or Max Jones are the top candidates to take his place in the lineup.

  • Oilers' Zach Hyman: Massive performance in Game 3 win

Hyman scored twice on four shots, added an assist, doled out 10 hits and went plus-5 in Sunday's 6-1 win over the Stars in Game 3.

Hyman had gone three games without a point and six contests without a goal prior to Sunday. While he hasn't consistently made an impact on the scoresheet, he's been noticeable with physicality all postseason. This was his fifth game of the playoffs with 10 or more hits. Hyman is at five goals, six helpers, 29 shots on net, 109 hits and a plus-10 rating over 14 playoff contests.

Hyman registered an assist, three shots on goal and a plus-2 rating in Thursday's 5-4 overtime win over the Golden Knights in Game 2.

Hyman set up an Evander Kane tally in the third period. Over the last three games, Hyman has contributed two goals and two assists. He's been a physical force in the playoffs, though he had just one hit Thursday. The winger is at seven points, 50 hits, 18 shots on net and a plus-4 rating over eight postseason contests.
