Buccaneers' Tez Johnson: Makes presence known in win
Johnson secured all four targets for 59 yards in the Buccaneers' 38-35 win over the Seahawks on Sunday.
The rookie filled a bigger role than expected in the wild victory, making excellent use of his 22 snaps, which amounted to 36 percent of the Buccaneers' offensive plays. Johnson displayed his trademark shiftiness after the catch, gaining 31 of his yards post-reception. He's thought to have much more upside than the standard seventh-round pick after finishing his college career at Oregon with back-to-back 10-touchdown seasons, and perhaps Sunday's production will serve as a launchpad for more opportunity.

Buccaneers' Tez Johnson: First NFL catch in loss
Johnson brought in his only target for eight yards and rushed once for five yards in the Buccaneers' 31-25 loss to the Eagles on Sunday.
With Mike Evans (hamstring) sidelined, Johnson played 32 percent of the Buccaneers' offensive snaps and recorded his first NFL catch in the process. However, the rookie was still minimally involved, and considering Chris Godwin could draw an even larger snap share than the 81 percent he played in his season debut Sunday when Tampa Bay travels to Seattle in Week 5, Johnson's fantasy prospects remain firmly muted for the time being.

Buccaneers' Tez Johnson: Blanked on one target Sunday
Johnson failed to bring in his only target in the Buccaneers' 29-27 win over the Jets on Sunday.
The rookie played on 21 snaps (29 percent snap share) but was barely involved. Johnson had been a healthy scratch Week 2 against the Texans and was in on just eight snaps Week 1, but as a result of Mike Evans' hamstring injury, Johnson could retain active status in a Week 4 home matchup against the Eagles despite the potential return of Chris Godwin (ankle).

Buccaneers' Tez Johnson: Healthy scratch Week 2
Johnson (coach's decision) is inactive for Monday's game against the Texans, Scott Smith of the Buccaneers' official site reports.
Johnson saw eight snaps on offense but failed to haul in his lone target during the Buccaneers' Week 1 win over the Falcons. The rookie seventh-rounder will observe Monday's game in street clothes, and whether he's active on gameday will likely depend on the health of the Bucs' receiving corps and return specialists. Johnson's next chance to suit up is Week 3 against the Jets on Sunday.

Buccaneers' Tez Johnson: Logs eight snaps in opener
Johnson failed to bring in his only target during the Buccaneers' 23-20 win over the Falcons on Sunday.
Johnson logged a scant eight snaps from scrimmage despite being listed as the No. 3 receiver on the depth chart to open the season. Sterling Shepard logged 37 snaps and finished tied for second in targets, so Johnson appears to be behind his veteran teammate in the pecking order going into a Week 2 Monday night road matchup against the Texans.

Buccaneers' Tez Johnson: Big impact in preseason finale
Johnson secured all eight targets for 58 yards and a touchdown in the Buccaneers' 23-19 preseason loss to the Bills on Saturday night.
Johnson comfortably led the Buccaneers in receptions, receiving yards and targets, putting together his second straight noteworthy performance. The rookie seventh-round pick has bounced back from missing the preseason opener by posting a 12-82-1 receiving line on 15 targets over the subsequent pair of games. Johnson is primed to see a somewhat meaningful role to open his NFL career, as injuries to Chris Godwin (PUP-ankle) and Jalen McMillan (neck) are expected to keep both players out for at least the first four games of the regular season.

Buccaneers' Tez Johnson: Busy night in preseason win
Johnson brought in four of seven targets for 24 yards and returned two punts for 37 yards in the Buccaneers' 17-14 preseason win over the Steelers on Saturday night. He also lost a fumble.
After missing the preseason opener against the Titans due to a leg injury, Johnson put in a full week of practice leading up to his professional debut. The shifty rookie seventh-round pick drew his first target with 3:51 remaining in the first half and made his first catch, an eight-yarder, at the 46-second mark of the second quarter. Johnson played with both Kyle Trask and Connor Bazelak as his quarterbacks, and he logged a position-high 39 snaps (59 percent) from scrimmage. Johnson's contributions on his pair of punt returns was particularly noteworthy, considering his special-teams work is likely to afford him perhaps his best path to a roster spot in a deep wide receiver room.

Buccaneers' Tez Johnson: Returns to practice
Johnson (leg) participated in Monday's training camp practice, Greg Auman of Fox Sports reports.
Johnson has been held out of practice and missed the Buccaneers' preseason win over the Titans on Saturday due to a leg injury. His return to practice is timely, as the rookie seventh-rounder is competing for a spot on the Bucs' 53-man roster as a depth wide receiver and return option on kickoffs and punts.

Buccaneers' Tez Johnson: Impressing early in camp
Johnson, whom the Buccaneers selected out of Oregon in the seventh round of the 2025 NFL Draft, has been impressing early in camp with his shiftiness and ability to make defenders miss, Brianna Dix of the team's official site reports.
The rookie wideout is renowned for his ability to gain yards after the catch, and his dynamic skill set enabled him to post the top two single-season reception tallies in Oregon school history. Johnson is starting his NFL career deep down a talented wide receiver depth chart, but he also has experience as a returner and is making a very positive early impression with his ability to start and stop quickly and what is termed as "explosive" burst when running vertically.

Buccaneers' Tez Johnson: Headed to Tampa Bay
The Buccaneers selected Johnson in the seventh round of the 2025 NFL Draft, 235th overall.
Johnson started his college career with Troy in 2020 before transferring to Oregon in 2023. He primarily played in the slot position for the Ducks and demonstrated chemistry with Bo Nix, with Johnson setting a single-season school receptions record in 2023 (86). Johnson followed that up with a strong 2024 campaign, catching 83 passes for 898 yards and 10 touchdowns over 12 games, and he was named as the Big Ten Championship Game MVP. Johnson has explosive burst at the snap and gives defenders trouble in the open field, but he'll need to firm up his route running to see consistent snaps at the NFL level. He faces an uphill battle in seeing offensive snaps in his rookie season in Tampa Bay but could serve as the team's top punt returner.
