Browns' Cameron Thomas: Finds groove in Cleveland
Thomas tallied 11 total tackles, including 1.0 sacks, over nine games with the Chiefs and Browns in 2024.
Thomas was traded from the Cardinals to the Chiefs right before the start of the regular season, but his time in Kansas City was brief. He played just six defensive snaps across four games before being waived in late November. The Browns claimed him one day after being waived, and he impressed as a reserve defensive lineman down the stretch, recording 11 total tackles, including 1.0 sacks, in five games. The 25-year-old edge rusher remains under contract through 2025 and is expected to stay in Cleveland. Thomas flashed potential over his 61 defensive snaps with the Browns late in the season, so he could serve as a reliable reserve defensive end during the team's 2025 campaign.

Browns' Cameron Thomas: Claimed by Cleveland
The Browns claimed Thomas off waivers Wednesday.
Thomas was acquired by the Chiefs from the Cardinals in late August, but after appearing in just four regular-season games, he was waived by Kansas City on Tuesday. Thomas' addition, along with James Houston, gives the Browns depth at defensive end behind starters Myles Garrett and Isaiah McGuire. Thomas' last full season took place in 2023 with Arizona, when he played in 15 regular-season games and posted 22 tackles (13 solo) and one pass defense and returned a fumble for a touchdown.

Cameron Thomas: Let go by Kansas City
The Chiefs waived Thomas on Tuesday.
Thomas was traded by the Cardinals to the Chiefs in late August in exchange for a seventh-round pick. He appeared in only four regular-season games -- mostly on special teams -- and did not record a stat. Thomas' removal from the Chiefs' 53-man roster indicates that Charles Omenihu (knee) is likely to be activated off the PUP list ahead of Friday's game against the Raiders.

Chiefs' Cameron Thomas: Dealt to Kansas City
Thomas was traded by the Cardinals to the Chiefs in exchange for a seventh-round pick Monday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Thomas tallied 40 tackles (20 solo), including 3.0 sacks, across 32 regular-season games in Arizona the last two seasons. He will now compete for snaps as a depth defensive end option for the defending champions.

Cardinals' Cameron Thomas: Good to go
Thomas (hamstring) was seen looking close to full speed at practice Thursday, Alex Weiner reports.
Thomas was unable to play in his Senior Bowl matchup due to a hamstring injury. However, it seems the rookie is almost back to full health, as his speed getting around the edge Thursday was of note to coaches. Expect the San Diego State product to see a depth role this season behind J.J. Watt.

Cardinals' Cameron Thomas: Heads to desert
The Cardinals selected Thomas (hamstring) in the third round of the 2022 NFL Draft, 87th overall.
Thomas turned in a dominant senior season at San Diego State to fuel his draft stock and become a Day 2 selection. The 267-pounder ranked 4th in the FBS in tackles for loss at 20.5 and added 11.5 sacks. He began his career as a nose tackle before moving to the edge, where he thrived. Thomas did not test at the combine due to a hamstring issue and did not complete the full battery of tests at his pro day, but his production and film was enough for Arizona to take the plunge. Thomas can develop behind J.J. Watt at defensive end.
