Panthers' Damien Lewis: Not expected to play Saturday
Lewis (shoulder) is not in line to suit up against the Texans on Saturday, Mike Kaye of The Charlotte Observer reports.
It appears Lewis will miss a second preseason game while he works through a shoulder injury. The 2020 third-rounder will aim to be available for the Panthers' preseason finale against the Steelers on Thursday.

Panthers' Damien Lewis: Dealing with shoulder injury
Lewis did not play in Friday's preseason game against the Browns due to a shoulder strain, Sheena Quick of Fox Sports Radio 1340 reports.
Lewis suffered the injury during Wednesday's training camp practice and is considered week-to-week. He's unlikely to play in the Panthers' two remaining preseason games, but he could return for Week 1 against the Jaguars on Sept. 7. With Lewis and Chandler Zavala (kneecap) both sidelined, Brandon Walton and Ja'Tyre Carter will have opportunities to work with the first-team offense at left guard.

Panthers' Damien Lewis: Out versus Cincinnati
Lewis (elbow) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Bengals, David Newton of ESPN.com reports.
Lewis left last week's win over the Raiders with the injury. Chandler Zavala came in as Lewis' replacement and is the sensible option to start at left guard Sunday versus Cincinnati.

Lewis left last Sunday's win over the Raiders early with the injury, which Joe Person of The Athletic reports is a torn UCL. The LSU product is hoping to not miss any time, noting that it's an overhead throwing injury and he may therefore be able to play through it. He's currently questionable for Week 4 against the Bengals.

Panthers' Damien Lewis: Leaves game Sunday
Lewis left Sunday's 36-22 win over the Raiders with an elbow injury, David Newton of ESPN.com reports.
The starting left guard dealt with a groin injury leading up to Week 2 but played anyway. Lewis signed a four-year, $53-million contract with the Panthers in the offseason. Chandler Zavala is his backup.

Panthers' Damien Lewis: Will play Sunday
Lewis (groin) is active for Sunday's game against the Chargers, Darin Gantt of the Panthers' official site reports.
After logging three limited practices during Week 2 prep, Lewis drew a questionable tag. However, the 26-year-old has been given the green light and will assume his usual spot as the Panthers' starting left guard. Lewis didn't miss an offensive snap in Week 1.
