Cephus Johnson: Cut by Tampa Bay
The Buccaneers waived Johnson on Sunday, Greg Auman of Fox Sports reports.
Johnson signed a reserve/future contract with the Bucs in January after spending all of 2023 on Tampa Bay's practice squad. He wasn't able to record a catch over his three preseason outings, and he wasn't able to make the Buccaneers' 53-man roster. Johnson could opt to stick around on the Bucs' taxi squad for a second straight season or look to catch on elsewhere.

Buccaneers' Cephus Johnson: Back with Tampa Bay
Johnson signed a reserve/future contract with the Buccaneers on Tuesday, Scott Smith of the team's official site reports.
Johnson spent the 2023 campaign on Tampa Bay's practice squad and never made it to the active roster. The big-bodied receiver initially went undrafted out of SE Louisiana before being scooped up by the Vikings as an undrafted free agent. However, he eventually found his opportunity with the Bucs once he was waived by Minnesota in August.

Cephus Johnson: Joins Bucs' practice squad
Johnson signed with Tampa Bay's practice squad Wednesday, Greg Auman of Fox Sports reports.
Johnson played quarterback at Southeastern Louisiana but impressed the Buccaneers with his combination of size and speed while trying to make the team as a wide receiver in camp. He's 6-foot-4 and runs the 40-yard dash in 4.57 seconds.

The Buccaneers waived Johnson on Tuesday, Scott Smith of the team's official site reports.
Johnson joined the Bucs on Aug. 12 after being cut by the Vikings five days prior. The undrafted free agent out of Southern Louisiana was a quarterback in college and was attempting to transition to wide receiver during the offseason and training camp. He'll have to continue that work elsewhere once he clears waivers.

Tampa Bay signed Johnson on Saturday, Greg Auman of Fox Sports repots.
Johnson, a rookie UDFA out of Southeastern Louisiana, started his NFL career with the Vikings, but he was let go Monday. At 6-foot-4 with a 4.57 40-yard dash, Johnson has the size and speed to play at the NFL level, but he's new to the wideout position, as he played quarterback in college. The 23-year-old figures to have an uphill battle to land a Week 1 roster spot with Tampa Bay.

Johnson was waived by the Vikings on Monday.
Johnson joined Minnesota on April 30 after going undrafted out of Southeastern Louisiana. The 23-year-old was a quarterback in college but he was working to make the transition to wide receiver during training camp. He'll now try to find an opportunity with another team.
