Carlos Washington: Reverts to practice squad
Washington reverted to Atlanta's practice squad Monday.
Washington didn't record any stats across the 10 snaps he played on special teams during Sunday's loss versus the Buccaneers. The 2023 undrafted free agent will now await his next opportunity to be called up to the active roster.

Falcons' Carlos Washington: Plays exclusively on special teams
Washington played 10 special-teams snaps during Sunday's 23-20 loss to the Buccaneers.
Undrafted rookie Nathan Carter was a healthy inactive, so Washington was elevated from the practice squad and served as the No. 3 running back behind Bijan Robinson and Tyler Allgeier. The Robinson-Allgeier duo is one of the best in the NFL, so it's going to be hard for Washington or Carter to carve out anything more than an emergency depth role in 2025.

Falcons' Carlos Washington: Elevated to active roster
Washington was elevated from Atlanta's practice squad Saturday, Terrin Waack of the team's official site reports.
Washington failed to make Atlanta's initial roster but re-signed with the practice squad. If he's active for Sunday's game against Tampa Bay, he'll be fourth on the running back depth chart.

Washington was unable to play in any of the Falcons' three preseason games due to a hamstring injury, but he'll stick around in Atlanta on the team's practice squad. He spent most of the 2024 season on the Falcons' practice squad but did play 11 snaps on special teams in Week 18 against the Panthers.

Carlos Washington: Cut by Atlanta
The Falcons waived Washington on Tuesday, Marc Raimondi of ESPN.com reports.

Falcons' Carlos Washington: Not expected to play this week
Washington (hamstring) is not expected to play in Atlanta's preseason finale against Dallas on Friday, D. Orlando Ledbetter of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
Washington has yet to play this preseason, so it appears as if he'll go the entire exhibition slate without recording a snap. He appeared in just one regular-season contest last season, logging 11 snaps on special teams.

Falcons' Carlos Washington: Inactive for Week 16
Washington (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Giants.
The Falcons signed Washington off the practice squad to the active roster Dec. 11 due to rookie running back Jase McClellan (knee) being placed on injured reserve. However, Washington will not play in Sunday's game as the Falcons roll with a three-man backfield of Bijan Robinson, Tyler Allgeier and Avery Williams. McClellan's next opportunity to play will be Week 17 against the Commanders on Sunday, Dec. 29.

Falcons' Carlos Washington: Joins active roster
The Falcons signed Washington to their active roster Wednesday, Terrin Waack of the Falcons' official site reports.
Washington's signing to the active roster likely comes in response to the Falcons' placing rookie running back Jase McClellan (knee) on injured reserve Wednesday. Expect Washington to serve as a depth piece in Atlanta's backfield for the remainder of the season, playing behind Bijan Robinson, Tyler Allgeier and Avery Williams.

Carlos Washington: Gets practice squad deal
Washington signed with the Falcons' practice squad on Wednesday, Terrin Waack of the team's official site reports.
Washington spent last season on the team's practice squad, but he never made it to the active roster. Despite starting multiple preseason games, the Southeastern Louisiana product was unable to secure a 53-man roster spot out of training camp and will once again be a member of the practice squad.

Carlos Washington: Let go by Atlanta
Washington was waived by the Falcons on Tuesday, Terrin Waack of the team's official site reports.
Washington signed a reserve/future contract with Atlanta in January and turned 29 carries into 71 yards and a touchdown while also adding two catches for 20 yards during the preseason. Although he didn't make the initial 53-man roster, it's possible that the running back sticks around with the Falcons' practice squad to open 2024 if he clears waivers.

Falcons' Carlos Washington: Starts again
Washington recorded four rushes for seven yards in Friday's 31-0 preseason loss to the Jaguars. He added one reception on one target for seven yards.
It wasn't an impressive stat line for Washington, but he was again the first running back on the field with neither Bijan Robinson nor Tyler Allgeier suiting up. Washington joined the Falcons as an undrafted free agent following the 2023 season and spent last year on the team's practice squad. Heading into 2024, he looks to be the favorite for the third spot on the depth chart.

Falcons' Carlos Washington: Headed for roster spot?
Washington started Saturday's 13-12 preseason loss at Baltimore and took nine carries for 39 yards.
With Bijan Robinson and Tyler Allgeier rested, Washington was busy for much of the first half while working ahead of rookie sixth-round pick Jase McClellan for a second straight week. Adnan Ikic of The Falcoholic believes Washington, a 2023 UDFA, has the inside track to the No. 3 RB job, but McClellan did come on strong at the end of Saturday's game to finish with an 11-55-1 rushing line (scoring his TD in the final minute). Either way, the winner of the battle isn't likely to get Week 1 touches unless Robinson or Allgeier gets injured or Atlanta's game ends up being a blowout.

Falcons' Carlos Washington: Signs reserve/future deal with ATL
The Falcons signed Washington to a reserve/future contract Monday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Atlanta signed Washington as an undrafted free agent ahead of the 2023 campaign, and the Southeastern Louisiana product ended up on Falcons' practice squad after being unable to make the initial 53-man roster. However, he impressed the organization enough to land a reserve/future contract after Atlanta's season ended Sunday. Washington will thus get a chance to compete for a roster spot next season.

Carlos Washington: Joins Falcons' practice squad
Atlanta signed Washington to its practice squad Wednesday, D. Orlando Ledbetter of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
After cutting Washington back in late August, the Falcons have now decided to bring him back into the fold, this time on the practice squad. As long as Bijan Robinson, Tyler Allgeier and Cordarrelle Patterson are healthy, Washington probably won't be elevated to the active roster in the near future.

Carlos Washington: Cut by Atlanta
The Falcons waived Washington on Tuesday.
Washington signed with the Falcons as an undrafted free agent in May. He rushed 30 times for 69 yards and a touchdown while adding 10 catches for 70 yards in three preseason games. He'll look for opportunities elsewhere once he clears waivers.

Falcons' Carlos Washington: On roster bubble
Washington rushed 13 times for 27 yards during Friday's preseason loss to Pittsburgh.
Washington, a rookie UDFA, was less than impressive during the preseason, totaling 30 rushing attempts for 69 yards across three games. It appears veteran journeyman Godwin Igwebuike has surpassed Washington on the depth chart, so the latter may be on the roster bubble. However, Washington has flashed as a pass catcher during Atlanta's exhibitions, securing six of seven targets for 42 yards, so it's possible his versatility is enough to land him a spot on the Falcons' initial 53-man roster.
