Buccaneers' Zyon McCollum: New career highs in '24
McCollum posted 82 tackles (55 solo), 17 defensed passes, including two interceptions, and one fumble recovery across 17 regular-season games in 2024.
The third-year defensive back played in all 17 games for the second consecutive season and set new career highs in tackles and pass defensed while snagging the first two interceptions of his career. McCollum logged a career-high 1,007 snaps on defense as well, and he allowed an impressively sparse 48.2 percent completion rate in primary coverage, although that figure actually represented a three-percent increase from 2023. McCollum was a consistent source of IDP production by cornerback standards due to his above-average tackling and knack for getting his hands on the ball, and he could be a candidate for an extension this offseason considering he's slated to play out the final year of his rookie contract in 2025.

Buccaneers' Zyon McCollum: Six tackles in Week 17 blowout win
McCollum tallied six tackles (five solo) and one pass defense during the Buccaneers' 48-14 win over the Panthers on Sunday.
McCollum played on all 46 defensive snaps Sunday and led the Buccaneers in combined and solo tackles. The 2022 fifth-round pick has played every single defensive snap in four of the Bucs' six games since the Week 11 bye, and he's up to 76 tackles (51 solo), 13 pass defenses (two interceptions) and one fumble recovery through 16 regular-season games. McCollum and the Bucs will look to do their part to win the NFC South division against the Saints next Sunday.

Buccaneers' Zyon McCollum: Solid as tackler in win
McCollum recorded six tackles (six solo) during Sunday's 28-13 win versus the Raiders.
McCollum was on the field for virtually every one of Tampa Bay's defensive snaps in a game where Las Vegas attempted 37 passes, so he saw more than a few chances to make tackles in the open field. The Buccaneers probably won't be defending the pass quite as much in Week 15 against the Chargers.

Buccaneers' Zyon McCollum: Reliable in road win
McCollum recorded seven tackles (four solo) during Sunday's 30-7 win against the Giants.
McCollum played all 56 of the Buccaneers' defensive snaps in Week 12, and he managed seven tackles for the second time in his last three outings. He figures to see a lot of rookie first-rounder Xavier Legette and veteran David Moore in Week 13 at Carolina.

Buccaneers' Zyon McCollum: Active for Week 12
McCollum (hamstring) is active for Sunday's game against the Giants.
McCollum injured his hamstring in the Bucs' Week 10 loss to the 49ers. He took advantage of the additional rest courtesy of the Week 11 bye, and he was able to practice in full Friday after opening the week with consecutive DNPs. McCollum and Jamel Dean (hamstring) will serve as the Bucs' starting corners Sunday against the Giants' new starting quarterback Tommy DeVito.
