Saints' Taysom Hill: Plays nine snaps in 2025 debut
Hill logged six carries for minus-1 yard and completed his lone passing attempt for 19 yards during Sunday's 26-14 victory versus the Giants.
Hill figured back into his role as a rushing quarterback and Swiss Army knife on offense during his first game back since suffering a torn ACL in Week 13 of the 2024 season. While he played only nine offensive snaps, the 35-year-old was featured nearly every time he got on the field, including multiple looks in short-yardage and third-down situations. Hill played at least 40 percent of offensive snaps in six of the eight regular-season games that he played last year, and he averaged 7.8 touches for 58.2 yards per contest in 2024. As he continues to ramp up his playing time, he should carry some value as a boom-or-bust option as a TE2 or FLEX play in most fantasy leagues, especially non-PPR formats. It will be worth monitoring how much, or if, his playing time increases during New Orleans' Week 6 matchup versus New England.

Saints' Taysom Hill: Set for season debut Sunday
Hill (knee) is active for Sunday's game against the Saints.
Hill is making his first appearance since Week 13 of the 2024 campaign, when he suffered a torn ACL in his left knee. After the Saints designated him for return from the reserve/PUP list last Monday, he operated with a cap on his reps during Week 5 prep and then was activated from the PUP list Saturday. Jeff Duncan of The Athletic reported earlier Sunday that Hill is poised to take on his typical gadget role while serving as a tight end and reserve quarterback, meaning all of passes, runs and targets will be on the docket for the 35-year-old.

Saints' Taysom Hill: Set to fill gadget role in Week 5
Hill (knee) remains listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Giants, but he's expected to be available for the contest in his typical gadget role, Jeff Duncan of The Athletic reports.
Hill's availability won't be confirmed until the Saints release their inactive list 90 minutes prior to Sunday's 1 p.m. ET kickoff, but the team's decision to activate him from the reserve/PUP list Saturday had already suggested that he was on track to make his 2025 debut this weekend. Duncan notes that the Saints plan to list Hill as their top backup quarterback behind starting Spencer Rattler, likely indicating that rookie second-round pick Tyler Shough will be inactive as the team's emergency third quarterback. Though the Saints may want to ease Hill into the mix with a light workload coming off the torn ACL he sustained last December, the 35-year-old projects to see some carries Sunday and potentially even some looks in the passing game when he lines up as a tight end.

Saints head coach Kellen Moore said Monday that Hill (knee), who remains on the reserve/PUP list, will have his 21-day practice window opened this week, Mike Triplett of NewOrleans.Football reports.
Hill and fellow tight end Foster Moreau are slated to take the practice field for the first time this season once eligible to have their 21-day windows opened during Week 5 prep. That will provide New Orleans a three-week period wherein both players can be evaluated at practice without counting against the 53-man roster. Hill will be required to miss at least the first four games of the regular season due to his placement on the reserve/PUP list, after which point New Orleans will have the option of opening a 21-day window for him to resume practicing. The transaction is no surprise, given that the 35-year-old is recovering from an ACL tear suffered Week 13 of last season. Both Hill's expected timetable to return, and the role he'll play in new head coach Kellen Moore's offense, remain to be seen. Hill suffered a torn ACL in his left knee in Week 13 last season and is still working his way back from the injury. It's unclear at this point if the 34-year-old will be ready in time for Week 1.
