Dolphins' Jaelan Phillips: Two tackles in final exhibtion
Phillips recorded two tackles and 0.5 sacks in Saturday's 14-6 preseason win over Jacksonville.
Phillips has been brought back slowly in training camp and the preseason while recovering from a torn ACL. He suited up for his preseason debut Saturday and was on the field for 19 snaps, an encouraging sign for his role heading into a Week 1 matchup against the Colts.

Dolphins' Jaelan Phillips: Labeled as day-to-day
Phillips (knee) is considered day-to-day, C. Isaiah Smalls II of the Miami Herald reports.
Phillips didn't play in the Dolphins' preseason opener against the Bears this past Sunday after he was injured in practice Aug. 2. Phillips' previous two seasons were ruined by serious injuries, first he had an Achilles tear in 2023 and then a torn ACL ended his 2024 campaign.

Dolphins' Jaelan Phillips: Unlikely to play Sunday
Based on pregame warmups, Phillips (knee) is not in line to play against the Bears on Sunday, Joe Schad of The Palm Beach Post reports.
Phillips is still working through a left knee injury that he suffered in practice in early August. The injury doesn't appear to be severe, but the Dolphins will play it conservatively to avoid aggravation. Phillips' next chance to play will be Saturday against the Lions.

Dolphins' Jaelan Phillips: Leaves practice with knee injury
Phillips left Saturday's training camp practice due to a left knee injury, Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald reports.
Phillips had his left knee checked on by trainers, but he relayed on social media that the injury was "just a bruise," per Hal Habib of The Palm Beach Post. Still, the injury is worth monitoring given Phillips' injury history over the last two seasons, including in 2024, when he suffered a partially torn ACL in his other knee. The 2021 first-rounder is slated to serve as the Dolphins' second starting edge rusher opposite Bradley Chubb.

Dolphins' Jaelan Phillips: Cleared to practice
Phillips (knee) participated in Friday's practice, Yianni Kourakis of WPBF News reports.
Phillips suffered a partial right ACL tear in early October that ended his 2024 campaign. He was able to participate in OTAs in a limited capacity and has progressed enough in his recovery to be fully active in practices for training camp. Phillips has played just 12 regular-season games over the last two years but is expected to be the Dolphins' second starting edge rusher opposite Bradley Chubb.

Dolphins' Jaelan Phillips: Active during OTAs
Phillips (knee) is participating in a limited capacity during OTAs, Cameron Wolfe of NFL Network reports.
Per David Furones of the South Florida Sun Sentinel, coach Mike McDaniel said Wednesday that Phillips can drill in most sessions most days, but that the team will take a cautious approach at this point. The ACL tear that ended Phillips' 2024 season prematurely back in October was only partial, perhaps accelerating his recovery process somewhat. When he's healthy, he figures to have a significant role on the edge for Miami along with Bradley Chubb and Chop Robinson.
