Dolphins' Tua Tagovailoa: Plays three drives
Tagovailoa completed four of eight passes for 49 yards and a touchdown in Saturday's 14-6 preseason win over the Jaguars.
Tagovailoa made his preseason debut and led three offensive possessions, the final of which ended with a touchdown. Though Jaylen Waddle also played, Tagovailoa primarily targeted Malik Washington, who did the majority of the work on Tagovailoa's 25-yard touchdown pass. Most importantly, he came from the contest healthy and will be locked in as the starting quarterback for Miami's Week 1 matchup against the Colts.

Dolphins' Tua Tagovailoa: Starters getting some run Saturday
Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel said Thursday he plans for Tagovailoa and Miami's starters to log some action during Saturday's preseason finale against the Jaguars, Cameron Wolfe of NFL Network reports.
McDaniel said a decision on exactly how much the Dolphins' starters will play Saturday won't come until after joint practices with Jacksonville have concluded, but it doesn't sound as though Tagovailoa and company will be slated for more than a few series at best. Tagovailoa played one drive during Miami's preseason opener against the Bears, but he sat out the team's second exhibition matchup against Detroit. Tyreek Hill (oblique) and starting running back De'Von Achane (calf) don't appear in line to play Saturday.

Dolphins' Tua Tagovailoa: Starters won't play Saturday
Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel said Friday that he doesn't plan to play Tagovailoa and most starters during Saturday's preseason game against the Lions, David Furones of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reports.
Tagovailoa played one drive during Miami's preseason opener against the Bears, completing five of six passes for 27 yards, but he'll rest during the team's second exhibition matchup. Instead, backup Zach Wilson will get the start Saturday while rookie Quinn Ewers enters in relief. Jaylen Waddle returned to team drills this week, but top wideout Tyreek Hill (oblique) remained sidelined Thursday.

Dolphins' Tua Tagovailoa: Available for preseason opener
Tagovailoa was suited up during pregame warmups and will be available for Sunday's preseason opener against the Bears, Patrick Finley of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
Zach Wilson and Quinn Ewers also are dressed. Tagovailoa likely will be limited to one or two series in Sunday's contest, and he'll be without Tyreek Hill (oblique) and Jaylen Waddle, though De'Von Achane looks to be available. Tagovailoa is looking to bounce back from an injury-riddled 2024 campaign in which he completed 72.9 percent of his passes for 2,867 yards, 19 touchdowns and seven interceptions across 11 regular-season games.

Dolphins' Tua Tagovailoa: Plays one drive in preseason opener
Tagovailoa completed five of six passes for 27 yards in Sunday's 24-24 preseason tie against the Bears.
Despite playing without top two wide receivers Tyreek Hill (oblique) and Jaylen Waddle (undisclosed), Tagovailoa guided the offense down to the 1-yard line before the Dolphins turned it over on downs on his lone drive of the game. Staying healthy will be the top priority for the oft-injured quarterback this preseason, which continues for the Dolphins with a trip to Detroit on Saturday.
