  • Dolphins' Tua Tagovailoa: Logs full practice Thursday

Tagovailoa (hip/left thumb) practiced fully Thursday, David Furones of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.

After being limited Wednesday, Tagovailoa's full participation a day later paves the way for him to be ready for Sunday's game against the Chargers, who have dropped two straight games. In terms of the issue with the left thumb on Tagovailoa's throwing hand, Furones previously noted that the QB didn't appear to be hindered on short/intermediate throws during Thursday's session. With Tyreek Hill (knee) out for the season, Tagovailoa's top playmakers going forward figure to be WR Jaylen Waddle, RB De'Von Achane and TE Darren Waller.

  • Dolphins' Tua Tagovailoa: Limited practice Wednesday

Tagovailoa (hip/left thumb) was limited at practice Wednesday, Marcel Louis-Jacques of ESPN.com reports.

Tagovailoa, who is coming off a 256-yard, three-TD effort in the Dolphins' 27-24 loss to the Panthers this past Sunday, is now managing two injury concerns ahead of this Sunday's contest against the Chargers. While so far there's nothing to suggest that the QB's Week 6 status is in any danger, Tagovailoa will likely need to practice fully by Friday in order to avoid carrying an injury designation into the weekend.

  • Dolphins' Tua Tagovailoa: Three-TD day wasted Sunday

Tagovailoa completed 27 of 36 passes for 256 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions and added one rush for five yards in the Dolphins' 27-24 loss to the Panthers on Sunday.

Tagovailoa managed well in his first game without Tyreek Hill (IR, knee), focusing a majority of his attention, as expected, on the trio of Jaylen Waddle, Darren Waller and De'Von Achane. The three pass catchers were responsible for Tagovailoa's three TD tosses and 17 of his completions overall. The 2020 first-round pick has multiple touchdown passes in four straight games -- and Sunday's tally was a season high -- but with Miami at 1-4, the overall long-term outlook for the Dolphins is bleak. A Week 6 home matchup against the Chargers could be an uphill battle for the short-handed offensive unit as well, even when factoring in Los Angeles' struggles against the Commanders in Week 5.
