Grayland Arnold: Let go from IR
The Falcons released Arnold (undisclosed) from injured reserve Friday, Tori McElhaney of the team's official site reports.
Arnold was slated to miss the entire 2025 season after reverting to the Falcons' IR in mid-August. However, the injury settlement allows the 28-year-old safety to sign with another team once he's fully recovered from his injury. Arnold last saw regular-season action in 2023 with the Texans, when he logged 18 tackles (12 solo) and one forced fumble over eight games.

The Falcons placed Arnold (undisclosed) on injured reserve Sunday.
Arnold didn't play in Friday's preseason opener against the Lions. He spent last summer with the Steelers but was placed on injured reserve last August due to a calf injury. Arnold hasn't appeared in a regular-season game since 2023 with the Texans.

Grayland Arnold: Works out with Atlanta
Arnold worked out with the Falcons on Thursday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Arnold spent training camp with the Steelers prior to the 2024 season, but he was sidelined due to a calf injury before being released. He's primarily been a special-teams player since entering the league in 2020, and that will likely be his role once again if he finds a new opportunity.

Arnold (calf) was let go after agreeing to an injury settlement with the Steelers on Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Arnold was set to spend the entirety of the 2024 campaign on Pittsburgh's injured reserve with a calf injury, but he'll now be free to sign wherever he pleases. The safety played in eight games with the Texans in 2023, compiling 18 total tackles and a forced fumble.

Steelers' Grayland Arnold: Placed on IR
Pittsburgh placed Arnold (calf) on injured reserve Thursday, Alan Saunders of SteelersNow.com reports.
Arnold hurt his calf during practice Wednesday and has landed on IR one day later. The 26-year-old had been competing for a roster spot after logging 18 tackles (12 solo) and a forced fumble over eight regular-season contests with Houston last season. Arnold's placement on IR means he'll be required to miss the entire 2024 campaign unless he and the Steelers reach an injury settlement.

Steelers' Grayland Arnold: Finds new opportunity
Arnold (calf) signed a contract with the Steelers on Tuesday, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.
Arnold spent the last three seasons in Houston, appearing in a combined 20 regular-season games, mostly seeing work on special teams. Now presumably past last season's calf injury that landed him on IR, Arnold will likely be working to earn a similar role in Pittsburgh.

Texans' Grayland Arnold: Won't play Sunday
Arnold (calf) has been ruled out ahead of Sunday's game against the Cardinals.
The 26-year-old safety out of Baylor popped up on the Texans' injury report Thursday with a calf issue, and he was held out of Friday's practice, so it's no surprise that he'll be inactive this Sunday. Arnold has appeared in eight games for Houston thus far, recording 18 total tackles, including one tackle for loss, and one forced fumble.

Texans' Grayland Arnold: Stepping in as nickel corner
Coach Demeco Ryans said Wednesday that Arnold is ready to play nickel corner in place of Tavierre Thomas (hand), Brooks Kubena of the Houston Chronicle reports.
It's a new role for Arnold, who prior to 2023 had played just three defensive snaps over two seasons with Houston. It's not clear how long Thomas will have to sit out, but at least to start, it looks like Arnold will serve as his replacement.

Texans' Grayland Arnold: Designated to return from IR
