Falcons' Parker Romo: Untimely miss in loss
Romo made his only field-goal attempt and went 2-for-3 on extra-point tries in Sunday's 24-23 loss to the Patriots.
Romo connected on a 38-yard field goal early in the fourth quarter before he later pushed an extra-point attempt wide right with 4:40 remaining in regulation, leaving the Falcons down by one point. The kicker has been inconsistent through seven contests with Atlanta this year, missing kicks in three separates games. Romo has now gone 11-for-14 on field-goal tries, including 1-for-2 from 50-plus yards, while making 10 of 11 PATs this season.

Falcons' Parker Romo: Nails both kicks vs. Miami
Romo made his lone field-goal attempt and connected on his only extra-point try during the Falcons' 34-10 loss to the Dolphins on Sunday.
Romo put the Falcons on the board with a 45-yard field goal early in the second quarter and added a PAT in the fourth frame, but he was otherwise idle as Atlanta struggled to move the ball down the field with Kirk Cousins under center for the injured Michael Penix (knee). Romo is now 10-for-13 on field-goal attempts and has made all 10 of his extra-point tries through six regular-season games.

Falcons' Parker Romo: Has field goal blocked in Week 6
Romo went 1-for-2 on field-goal attempts and made all three of his extra-point tries Monday in a 24-14 victory versus Buffalo.
The Falcons scored three touchdowns in the first half, and Romo converted the extra-point try each time. He was then called upon for a 37-yard field-goal attempt early in the fourth quarter and had it blocked. However, Romo was able to essentially seal the victory with a 33-yard make later in the period. Romo is now 8-for-11 on field-goal attempts on the campaign.

Falcons' Parker Romo: Perfect in win
Romo nailed both field-goal attempts and all four extra-point tries in Sunday's 34-27 win over the Commanders.
The kicker rebounded after missing both of his field-goal attempts in the Falcons' 30-3 loss to the Panthers in Week 3. Romo moved up from the Atlanta practice squad for the team's Week 2 matchup with the Vikings, in which he made all five field-goal attempts and his only extra-point try. The Falcons released Younghoe Koo -- who missed a potential game-winning 44-yard field goal in the season opener against the Bucs -- after Romo's strong game versus Minnesota.

Falcons' Parker Romo: Kicking again in Week 4
Romo will serve as the Falcons' top place kicker in Sunday's matchup against the Commanders, D. Orlando Ledbetter of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
Despite a tough Week 3 performance in which Romo missed both of his field-goal attempts, he'll remain the Falcons' kicker for the third consecutive game. Across the 28-year-old's NFL career, he's made 16 of 19 field-goal tries and nine of 10 extra-point attempts. Romo will look to bounce back against Washington in Week 4.

Falcons' Parker Romo: Misses both kicks in Week 3
Romo missed both of his field-goal attempts in Sunday's 30-0 loss to the Panthers.
Romo missed field-goal attempts from 49 and 55 yards in the first quarter, which ended up being his only opportunities of the day, as Atlanta was shutout in Week 3. The kicker was signed to the active roster Friday after he went 5-for-5 on field-goal tries in Week 2 against the Vikings, but he wasn't able to repeat his success against Carolina. Romo will look to get back on track in the team's Week 4 matchup with the Commanders.

Falcons' Parker Romo: Signed to active roster
The Falcons signed Romo from their practice squad to the active roster Friday, Tori McElhaney of the team's official site reports.
In the wake of Younghoe Koo missing a potential game-winning 44-yard field goal Week 1 against the Buccaneers, Atlanta signed Romo to the practice squad and then elevated him for a Week 2 matchup with the Vikings, while the former didn't travel with the team. Romo then made all five field-goal attempts and his sole point-after try this past Sunday in a 22-6 win. The Falcons have opted to move forward with Romo as their kicker after releasing Koo in a corresponding move.

Falcons' Parker Romo: Gets Week 3 nod over Koo
Romo will kick for the Falcons this Sunday at Carolina, D. Orlando Ledbetter of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
Younghoe Koo is still on the roster, but Romo replaced him for Sunday's 22-6 win over the Vikings and made all five of his field-goal attempts in the process. Koo didn't even travel with the team, which may be the case again this weekend as the Falcons head to Carolina.

Falcons' Parker Romo: Back to practice squad
Romo reverted to the Falcons' practice squad Monday.
Romo was elevated to the Falcons' active roster for Week 2 and took over as the team's kicker for Sunday's 22-6 win over the Vikings, finishing 5-for-5 on field-goal attempts and knocking down his lone extra-point try. Though Romo is back on the practice squad, head coach Raheem Morris said Monday that there is "about a 90 percent chance" that Romo is called upon to handle kicking duties Week 3 against the Panthers. Younghoe Koo was inactive for the Falcons' Week 2 win, though Morris relayed that the team hasn't made a permanent decision on a kicker between Romo and Koo for the rest of the season. Even so, a strong performance in the Falcons' upcoming NFC South clash would give Romo the inside edge on maintaining the kicking job for the foreseeable future.

Falcons' Parker Romo: Spotless in team debut
Romo went 5-for-5 on field-goal attempts and made his only extra-point try in Sunday's 22-6 win over the Vikings.
Romo was elevated to the active roster to serve as Atlanta's kicker in Week 2, while Week 1 starter Younghoe Koo didn't make the trip to Minnesota. Romo couldn't have performed any better, making field goals from 38, 29 and 33 yards in the first half before later adding a 33-yarder in the third quarter and a 54-yard make in the fourth. The kicker certainly made the most of his opportunity, and he may have earned himself another elevation for the team's Week 3 matchup with the Panthers.

Falcons' Parker Romo: Handling kicking duties in Week 2
The Falcons elevated Romo from the practice squad to the active roster Saturday, Terrin Waack of the Falcons' official site reports.
After Younghoe Koo missed a game-tying field-goal try late in the fourth quarter in the team's Week 1 loss to the Buccaneers, the Falcons worked out a number of kickers Monday. Atlanta ultimately signed Romo to its practice squad following his workout, and the 28-year-old will now get the chance to take over as the team's kicker for at least one week. The Falcons have already announced that Koo won't make the trip to Minnesota for Sunday's game in a coach's decision, paving the way for Romo to step in and potentially earn himself a longer-term stay in Atlanta if he performs well in his team debut. Romo's previous NFL action came with Minnesota in 2024, when he converted 11 of 12 field-goal tries and seven of eight extra-point attempts over four games.

Parker Romo: Joins Atlanta's practice squad
The Falcons signed Romo to their practice squad Tuesday, Marc Raimondi of ESPN.com reports.
Atlanta already has another kicker in Lenny Krieg on its practice squad as an international pathway program player, but Romo will present a more formidable threat to Younghoe Koo as the team's kicker. Koo missed a critical 44-yard field-goal attempt in Sunday's 23-20 loss to the Buccaneers, and after head coach Raheem Morris said that the Falcons would bring in competition, Romo was the most impressive of four kickers worked out Monday. Romo was serviceable during a four-week run with the Vikings in 2024, converting 11 of 12 field-goal attempts and seven of eight extra-point tries.

John Parker Romo: Cut loose by Pats
The Patriots are releasing Romo, leaving Andres Borregales as the lone kicker on their roster, Mark Daniels of MassLive.com reports.
The 28-year-old Romo has spent time with a number of NFL team but appeared in just four regular-season games, all for Minnesota last season. He made 11 of 12 field-goal attempts and seven of eight PATs for the Vikings, but reports from New England's beat writers hinted at Borregales being in the lead for the kicking job throughout the preseason, especially given that the organization used a sixth-round pick in 2025 to acquire him.
