J.J. Arcega-Whiteside: Let go by Atlanta
The Falcons released Arcega-Whiteside on Tuesday.
Arcega-Whiteside signed with the Falcons in May after spending most of the 2022 season on the Seahawks' practice squad. He hauled in six passes for 86 yards in three preseason games. He'll look for opportunities elsewhere once he clears waivers.

Falcons' J.J. Arcega-Whiteside: Signs with Atlanta
Arcega-Whiteside and the Falcons agreed on a contract Monday, Tori McElhaney of the team's official site reports.
Arcega-Whiteside spent the majority of the 2022 campaign on Seattle's practice squad, but he failed to appear in a game before being let go in November. The wide receiver last appeared in a contest in 2021 with Philadelphia, catching two passes for 36 yards over 16 games that season. He will now attempt to crack Atlanta's practice squad and potentially their active roster to open 2023.

J.J. Arcega-Whiteside: Done with Seattle's practice squad
The Seahawks cut Arcega-Whiteside from their practice squad Tuesday, John Boyle of the team's official site reports.
Just a couple months after inking a practice squad deal with Seattle, Arcega-Whiteside will now have to look for another opportunity elsewhere. In a corresponding move, the Seahawks added Laquon Treadwell to their practice squad.

J.J. Arcega-Whiteside: Signs practice squad deal
The Seahawks signed Arcega-Whiteside to their practice squad Wednesday, Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times reports.
Arcega-Whiteside was traded to Seattle by Philadelphia during training camp, but he didn't secure a spot on the Seahawks' initial 53-man roster. The 2019 second-round pick has 16 receptions for 290 yards and one score across three seasons in the NFL.

Arcega-Whiteside was waived by the Seahawks on Tuesday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
Arcega-Whiteside arrived in Seattle during training camp via a trade from Philadelphia. He subsequently reverted back to wide receiver after an experiment switching to tight end for the Eagles last season. The 2019 second-round pick was ultimately unable to make enough of an impression to land spot on the final roster.

Seahawks' J.J. Arcega-Whiteside: Two targets in preseason loss
Arcega-Whiteside didn't catch either of his two targets in Thursday's 27-11 preseason loss to the Bears.
Arcega-Whiteside arrived in Seattle after a trade with the Eagles that sent defensive back Ugo Amadi -- whom the Seahawks were planning to cut anyway -- the other way. The 2019 second-round pick had only five days to pick up the playbook before Thursday's preseason clash, so his limited usage was to be expected. While Arcega-Whiteside attempted to convert to tight end in Philadelphia, he'll switch back to wide receiver with his new team. The preseason finale against the Cowboys will be key for his chances of making the team.

Seahawks' J.J. Arcega-Whiteside: Will play wideout with Seattle
Arcega-Whiteside, who worked as a tight end while with Philadelphia earlier this offseason, said Tuesday that he will move back to wide receiver after being acquired by Seattle on Monday, Curtis Crabtree of Sports Radio 950 KJR Seattle reports.
The Eagles attempted to convert Arcega-Whiteside into a tight end after he caught just 16 passes for 210 yards and one touchdown over his first three seasons with the team. The 2019 second-round pick -- who stands 6-foot-2, 237 pounds -- also played more snaps on special teams (229) than on offense (161) last year, indicating just how far he had slid down the Eagles' wide receiver depth chart. Arcega-Whiteside will now have to prove himself against Seattle's fellow pass catchers Penny Hart, Aaron Fuller and Dareke Young if he wants to secure a roster spot this preseason and eventually turn around this abysmal start to his career.

Seahawks' J.J. Arcega-Whiteside: Traded to Seattle for backup DB
The Eagles traded Arcega-Whiteside to Seattle on Monday for defensive back Ugo Amadi, Brady Henderson of ESPN.com reports.
It's not a great sign for Arcega-Whiteside's NFL career that he was traded for a player who reportedly was about to get cut. The teams worked out a deal instead, and the 2019 second-round pick now can take his attempted WR-to-TE transition to Seattle.
