Saints' Erik McCoy: Officially goes to IR
New Orleans placed McCoy (biceps) on its injured reserve list Tuesday.
The move comes as no surprise, as it was already known McCoy would miss the remainder of the season after he tore his biceps during Sunday's game at Chicago. Luke Fortner stepped in at center for the Saints after McCoy went down in Week 7, but the team could at some point opt to slide over Cesar Ruiz if Fortner proves to be a significant downgrade.

Saints' Erik McCoy: Done for season
Head coach Kellen Moore relayed Monday that McCoy sustained a season-ending biceps injury during the Saints' 26-14 loss to the Bears on Sunday, Katherine Terrell of ESPN.com reports.
McCoy tore his biceps during Sunday's loss, which will sideline the seventh-year offensive lineman for the rest of the 2025 season. His loss is a severe blow to the Saints' offense, as the 2019 second-rounder was named to the Pro Bowl in each of the last two years. Luke Fortner entered Sunday's game following McCoy's exit, but it could be Cesar Ruiz who shifts over from right guard to center for the rest of the 2025 campaign.

Saints' Erik McCoy: Likely done for the season
McCoy is believed to have sustained a torn biceps in Sunday's 26-14 loss to the Bears and will likely miss the remainder of the season, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
The veteran center exited New Orleans' Week 7 loss in the fourth quarter, and the injury now appears serious enough to sideline him for the remainder of the year. This is a huge blow to the Saints' offensive line, as McCoy was selected to the Pro Bowl in each of his last two seasons. In his stead, Luke Fortner is expected to step in and start at center.

Saints' Erik McCoy: Placed on IR due to elbow injury
The Saints placed McCoy (elbow) on injured reserve Saturday.
McCoy's placement on IR comes as no surprise, as he was already expected to miss the Saints' final two games of the regular season due to an elbow injury he suffered against the Packers in Week 16. Shane Lemieux is expected to serve as New Orleans' starting center for the last two games of the year, starting with Sunday's game against Las Vegas.
