  • Carl Nassib: Retires from football

Nassib announced Wednesday via his personal Instagram account that he has retired from professional football.

Though he only just turned 30 years old in April, Nassib has now decided that the time is right to hang up his football cleats. The 2016 third-round pick out of Penn State played seven seasons in the NFL with the Browns, Buccaneers and Raiders, accumulating 187 tackles, 25.5 sacks, an interception and four forced fumbles.

  • Buccaneers' Carl Nassib: Returns in full for playoff prep

Nassib (pectoral) was a full participant during Tampa Bay's practice Thursday.

Nassib popped up with a pectoral injury following the Week 14 loss to San Francisco, leaving him ruled out for the final four regular-season games. The 29-year-old was limited over the final two weeks of the regular season, and it appears he's ready to retake the field during Monday's wild-card game versus Dallas. Expect Nassib to continue playing an increased role in the Buccaneers' depleted corps of outside linebackers.

  • Buccaneers' Carl Nassib: Sidelined for fourth straight

Head coach Todd Bowles said Friday that Nassib (pectoral) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Falcons, Greg Auman of Fox Sports reports.

Despite the pair of limited showings Nassib took part in to open Week 18 prep, the 275-pounder is now in line to miss his fourth consecutive matchup this weekend as a result of a pectoral injury. Joe Tryon-Shoyinka and Anthony Nelson should both handle heavy snap counts Sunday versus Atlanta given that three other Tampa Bay outside linebackers are currently on injured reserve.

  • Buccaneers' Carl Nassib: Will miss Week 17, as expected

Nassib (pectoral) is among the Buccaneers' inactives for Sunday's contest against Carolina, Greg Auman of Fox Sports reports.

Nassib logged a trio of limited practices this week but was deemed doubtful heading into Sunday, and he will indeed miss his third straight contest. Joe Tryon-Shoyinka may again log 100 percent of Tampa Bay's defensive snaps as he has each of the past two weeks while Nassib has been out.

  • Buccaneers' Carl Nassib: Doubtful to face Panthers

Nassib (pectoral) is doubtful for Sunday's game against Carolina.

Nassib is coming off back-to-back missed games, but he did manage to put forth a trio of limited practice sessions this week. Nonetheless, it looks like the Buccaneers consider the outside linebacker to be trending in the wrong direction for Sunday's divisional matchup. Joe Tryon-Shoyinka and Anthony Nelson will be candidates to handle increased roles if Nassib is again unavailable.

  • Buccaneers' Carl Nassib: Unavailable Week 16

Nassib (pectoral) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Cardinals, Brianna Dix of the Buccaneers' official site reports.

Nassib is slated to miss his second consecutive matchup as a result of the pectoral injury he sustained back in Week 14 versus the 49ers. In his absence, both Joe Tryon-Shoyinka and Anthony Nelson are in line to handle an increased snap count this weekend in Arizona.
