Panthers' Jordan Matthews: Stays with Panthers on futures deal
Carolina signed Matthews to a reserve/futures contract Tuesday, David Newton of ESPN.com reports.
Matthews appeared in four games with the Panthers in 2024, drawing just one target for zero receptions on a total of 26 offensive snaps. Carolina also signed Dominique Dafney to a similar deal Tuesday, so the two may have to compete to distinguish themselves during the offseason.

Jordan Matthews: Back to practice squad
The Panthers signed Matthews to their practice squad Friday, Joe Person of The Athletic reports.
Matthews was cut from Carolina's 53-man roster earlier in the week but is back with the team's practice squad, where he spent the early part of the season. The 32-year-old hasn't drawn a target on 26 offensive snaps across four appearances this season.

Jordan Matthews: Gets waived
Carolina waived Matthews on Tuesday, Darin Gantt of the Panthers' official site reports.
Matthews signed onto Carolina's active roster from its practice squad less than two weeks ago, but now he's on track to become a free agent if he's not claimed by another team during the current waiver period. If that doesn't happen, he'd be a candidate to potentially rejoin the Panthers' practice squad.
