Panthers' T.J. Barnes: Packs bags for Carolina
Barnes signed a contract with the Panthers on Monday, Bryan Strickland of the team's official site reports.
Barnes most recently played in the AAF for the Atlanta Legends and previously spent three seasons in the NFL between the Bills, Jets and Chiefs. The 6-foot-6, 355-pound defensive tackle projects to serve as a reserve run stopper if he's able to secure a role on the Panthers' 53-man roster.

T.J. Barnes: Released by Kansas City
Barnes was released by the Chiefs on Friday, Terez A. Paylor of The Kansas City Star reports.
At 6-foot-7, 364 pounds, Barnes is a monstrous prospect, but he must not have been a great fit with the Chiefs. He'll look to move on to another team in need of a run-clogging defensive tackle.

Chiefs' T.J. Barnes: Promoted to active roster
Barnes was promoted to the Chiefs' active roster on Saturday.
Barnes hasn't done much throughout his NFL career, which has included brief stints with the Jets and Bills. If Dontari Poe (back) is unable to play Sunday against the Falcons, Barnes could see snaps at nose tackle behind Jarvis Jenkins.
