Buccaneers' Robert McClain: Registers three interceptions in 2017
McClain totaled 50 tackles, five pass breakups, three interceptions and one touchdown over 14 games for Tampa Bay in 2017.
McClain, playing on a one-year deal with Tampa Bay, logged the second-most snaps among Buccaneers cornerbacks and ultimately finished tops in tackles at the position. However, he never proved to be much of an IDP asset and graded out as Pro Football Focus' 98th-highest graded corner. The UConn product will now be an unrestricted free agent at the end of the league year.

Buccaneers' Robert McClain: Nabs pick Sunday
McClain posted six tackles (five solo) and one interception in the Buccaneers' Week 14 loss to the Lions.
McClain logged 54 of 68 defensive snaps in the contest and compiled one of his best stat lines of the season. The Buccaneers have a difficult Week 15 game against the Falcons, who torched Tampa Bay just two weeks earlier for 34 points and 516 total yards.

Buccaneers' Robert McClain: Nabs second pick of season
McClain managed four solo tackles and an interception in Sunday's 30-20 win over the Dolphins.
The six-year pro's tackle totals were a bit down after he'd racked up a combined 15 stops over his previous two games, but he managed his first interception since the Buccaneers' Week 2 season opener. McClain has thrived in a starting opportunity and has been providing fantasy owners with solid tackle numbers for a cornerback. The 29-year-old should continue running with the first unit, providing him with an opportunity to continue offering serviceable IDP production in deeper formats.

Buccaneers' Robert McClain: Full practice participant
McClain (hamstring) was a full participant in Wednesday's practice, David Helman of the Cowboys' official site reports.
McClain started his Week 10 prep as a full participant, but he was downgraded to doubtful by the end of the week. Hopefully, Week 11 isn't a replica, and for now there are no signs pointing in that direction. McClain compiled 28 tackles (23 solo) three pass breakups and a pick six through seven games this season. However, until he can produce a consistent tackle count, fantasy owners shouldn't deploy him in most circumstances.

Buccaneers' Robert McClain: Inactive for Week 10
McClain (hamstring) is inactive for Sunday's matchup against the Jets, Scott Smith of the Buccaneers' official site reports.
McClain was listed as doubtful heading into the contest, after the hamstring injury limited his participation in practice Thursday before sidelining him for the entirety of Friday's session. The Buccaneers are hopeful one week off will be all McClain needs to recover from the injury, but his absence should nonetheless help open up additional snaps at cornerback for Vernon Hargreaves and Ryan Smith.

Buccaneers' Robert McClain: Listed as doubtful
The Buccaneers have listed McClain (hamstring) as doubtful for Sunday's game against the Jets.
McClain opened Week 10 prep as a full participant before seeing his status downgrade to non-participant by Friday, so he is clearly trending in the wrong direction. Barring a remarkable turnaround, it looks like Vernon Hargreaves and Ryan Smith should see increased roles in the secondary Sunday.

Buccaneers' Robert McClain: Productive in return to action
McClain (concussion) posted seven tackles (four solo) -- including a half-tackle for loss -- in Sunday's 30-10 loss to the Saints.
The veteran corner made a successful return from a one-game absence and posted strong tackle totals for the second consecutive contest. McClain has collected 15 tackles (11 solo) and a defensed pass in his two games as a starter and is likely to continue holding down a first-string cornerback job for the time being.

Buccaneers' Robert McClain: Clears concussion protocol
Buccaneers head coach Dirk Koetter said Thursday that McClain cleared the NFL's concussion protocol, Jenna Laine of ESPN.com reports.
The news removes any doubt regarding McClain's status heading into Sunday's matchup with the Saints. McClain has appeared in six of the Buccaneers' seven games this season, accumulating 21 tackles, three pass breakups, an interception and a touchdown.

Buccaneers' Robert McClain: Full practice participant Wednesday
McClain (concussion) practiced Wednesday without limitations, Jenna Laine of ESPN.com reports.
McClain still remains in the NFL's concussion protocol, but his full practice Wednesday suggests he's progressing well and seemingly on track to play Sunday against the Saints. McClain normally plays a high snap count as the No. 3 Bucs' corner, but he could be thrust into a starting role if Brent Grimes (shoulder) is unable to suit up this week.

Buccaneers' Robert McClain: Ruled out for Sunday
McClain (concussion) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Panthers, Jenna Laine of ESPN.com reports.
McClain sat out of practice this week, making this move unsurprising. With his injury designation, expect Ryan Smith to slot into the No. 3 corner position for the time being.

Buccaneers' Robert McClain: Enters concussion protocol
McClain was pulled at the end of Sunday's game against the Bills and has entered concussion protocol, Greg Auman of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
McClain had a season-high eight tackles (seven solo) before leaving Sunday's game. He slots in as a No. 3 corner, but the veteran corner often still logs the workload of a starter. He'll have a week to progress through concussion protocol in order to play against the Panthers in Week 8.

Buccaneers' Robert McClain: Signs with Buccaneers
McClain signed with the Buccaneers on Tuesday, Greg Auman of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
McClain spent time with the Panthers and Chargers last season, playing in 14 games and recording 21 total tackles. It is unlikely that McClain will be able to return to his 2012-2014 form, during which he was a key part of the Falcons' defensive scheme, but he still should be able to provide Tampa Bay with, at the very least, depth at defensive back.
