Chargers running back Donald Brown is expected to see an increased role in the wake of Ryan Mathews' MCL sprain, and coach Mike McCoy told reporters Monday he believes Brown is up for the job.

"He's played a lot of football," McCoy said, via U-T San Diego. "We've got a lot of confidence in him."

Brown saw an increased workload in Week 2 against the Seahawks, rushing for 21 yards on seven carries. It is not clear whether he or Danny Woodhead will get the start beginning in Week 3 against the Bills.
