After trading Gerald Hodges to the 49ers, Vikings general manager Rick Spielman said the team feels good about linebacker Eric Kendricks, 1500 ESPN Twin Cities reports.

Hodges had been getting most of the snaps in Minnesota's base defense, with Kendricks replacing him in nickel and dime formations. The rookie may now get a shot at an every-down role, though the Vikings haven't said anything to that effect. If he does take on Hodges' snaps, Kendricks would immediately be a viable IDP in most leagues.
