The Pittsburgh Steelers made some major moves this summer, with the additions of Aaron Rodgers, DK Metcalf and Jalen Ramsey chief among them, and they expect to contend in the highly competitive AFC North because of those veteran acquisitions.

Rodgers spoke recently about Ramsey setting the tone for the defense -- calling him a "tempo violator" in walkthroughs -- while heaping praise on his new teammate by comparing him to a Hall of Famer he played with in Green Bay.

"I like Jalen. I have a ton of respect for what he's accomplished in his career. He's a very versatile guy," Rodgers said. "I was reminding him how Charles Woodson, late in his career, moved to safety, and there's truly only a few elite guys who have done everything he's done if you think about it. You can play outside corner and dominate, you can play nickel and dominate, and then go to safety and be a dominant player, and I think he can do all three of those things."

Ramsey joined the Steelers in a rare, player-for-player blockbuster trade; Pittsburgh sent safety Minkah Fitzpatrick back to Miami to bring in Ramsey and Jonnu Smith. While Ramsey is still going to play corner, he's taken some reps in camp at safety and will likely move around the secondary as needed to fill various roles and give Mike Tomlin's defense some personnel versatility in different packages.

Woodson was able to extend his career by moving to being a safety at the end of his time in Green Bay and then in his second stint in Oakland, and Rodgers sees Ramsey making a similar transition. It's not a move many corners can make, but Ramsey has long been one of the most physical corners in the NFL, happy to fill from the outside in the run game and deliver big hits.

We'll find out exactly how much time Ramsey will split at various spots in the Steelers' secondary this season, but Rodgers sees that versatility as a real asset already in camp from the other side of the ball.
