Seahawks vs. Buccaneers score: Bucs rally, score 10 points in final minute to earn victory

In a retro-style shootout that featured many late game twists and turns, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers prevailed 38-35 over the Seattle Seahawks thanks to 10 unanswered points in the final minute and 15 seconds of regulation. After yet another set of late-game heroics by Bucs quarterback Baker Mayfield, it would be Lavonte David who truly broke the game wide open for Tampa Bay to improve to 4-1.

After a touchdown pass from Sam Darnold to Tory Horton put the Seahawks up 35-28 with just over two minutes to play, Mayfield yet again leaned into his ongoing penchant for dramatic late-game rallies, leading Tampa Bay down the field in a two-minute drill and getting all the way to Seattle's 11-yard line with 1:15 to play before rifling a pass to the endzone for Sterling Shepard, who made the catch to score a touchdown that tied the game at 35-all.

The Seahawks were then tasked with trying to march down and score at least a field goal, but Buccaneers linebacker and franchise great Lavonte David would turn that idea on its head, intercepting a Darnold pass well within Seahawks territory to instantly put his team in business for a game-winning field goal.

Before long, the Bucs were able to line up kicker Chase McLaughlin for a 39-yard field goal attempt to win the game, which he booted through to give Tampa Bay a 38-35 win and 4-1 record in dramatic fashion.

The Buccaneers will come back from the West Coast to play another NFC West opponent in the friendly confines of Raymond James Stadium, as they host the San Francisco 49ers in Week 6. The Seahawks, meanwhile, drop to 3-2 and will make a trip to Florida of their own to face the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Late heroics by Baker Mayfield, Lavonte David give Tampa Bay the win

Needing a touchdown of their own to keep their hopes of winning alive, Baker Mayfield led the Buccaneers down the field in a two-minute drill, then finished things off by dialing up one of his most trusted receivers. With 1:15 to play at Seattle's 11-yard line, Mayfield found Sterling Shepard open in the endzone, then rifled a pass to his old Oklahoma teammate to knot the game up at 35-all.

When the Seahawks got a chance to respond, Tampa Bay wrestled complete control of the game away by virtue of one of their longest tenured players, as Lavonte David picked off a Sam Darnold pass with less than a minute left to set Tampa Bay up yet again on Seattle's side of the field.

A little more work by the Bucs' offense was enough to set kicker Chase McLaughlin up with a 39-yard game winning field goal, which he drilled to give Tampa Bay a dramatic 38-35 victory.

Sam Darnold escapes sack to throw go-ahead touchdown on 4th & 2

In a massive spot, the Seahawks have managed to break a 28-all tie late in the game and put Seattle up by a touchdown. With the Seahawks going for it on 4th & 2 from the Bucs' 22-yard line, quarterback Sam Darnold stepped out of not one, but two would-be sacks to get outside the pocket and find Tory Horton wide open for a touchdown.

With the extra point, Seattle now leads 35-28 at the two-minute warning.
