Saints vs. Giants: Live updates, score, results, highlights, for Sunday's NFL game

3rd Quarter Report

Only one more quarter stands between the Saints and the win they were favored to collect coming into this afternoon. They have a bit of a cushion as they currently lead the Giants 17-6.

If the Saints keep playing like this, they'll bump their record up to 7-7 in no time. On the other hand, the Giants will have to make due with a 5-9 record unless they turn things around (and fast).

Preview

The Giants have enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on the New Orleans Saints at 1:00 p.m. ET on Sunday at Caesars Superdome. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

New York gave up the first points last Monday, but they didn't let that get them down. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Packers 24-22.

The Giants got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Tommy DeVito out in front who threw for 158 yards and a touchdown while completing 81% of his passes. The team also got some help courtesy of Saquon Barkley, who rushed for 86 yards and two touchdowns.

The Giants were down by one with only one minute and 33 seconds left when they drove 57 yards for the winning score. Randy Bullock did the honors with a 37-yard field goal.

Meanwhile, New Orleans' three-game losing streak finally came to an end on Sunday. They put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 28-6 win.

Nobody from New Orleans had a standout game, but they got scores from Derek Carr, Jimmy Graham, and Chris Olave.

The Saints have used their receiving core heavily this season, as 62.2% of their passes have been to wide receivers this season. The team tried something a little different on Sunday though, as only 38.5% of the QB's passes went to receivers. Given they posted a dismal four yards per play the Saints probably won't be trying that again any time soon.

New York's victory bumped their record up to 5-8. As for New Orleans, their win bumped their record up to 6-7.

The Giants are hoping to beat the odds on Sunday, as the experts think they're headed for a loss. This contest will be their 12th straight as the underdogs (so far over this stretch they are 5-5-1 against the spread).

Not only did both teams in this Sunday's matchup win their last matches, they also took care of their bettors and covered the spread. Looking ahead, the Saints are the favorite in this one, as the experts expect to see them win by six points. For those looking to play the spread, careful betting on the Saints: they have a less-than-stellar 3-9-1 record against the spread this season.
