If the Packers release LT Chad Clifton, as was reported Monday by ESPN, they would gain $5.703 million in salary cap space. Clifton, who will turn 36 in June, endured major injuries in 2011 and had offseason back surgery, but reportedly failed a team physical. He would've been due $5.25 million in base salary, plus $500,000 in bonuses.
