Chargers running back Ryan Mathews went to the locker room in the third quarter after sustaining a left shoulder injury, reports the San Diego Union-Tribune. Mathews returned to the sideline with his helmet on, but did not immediately reenter the game. The team called him questionable to return.
Branden Oliver and Donald Brown handled backfield duties following Mathews' injury.
Mathews headed to the locker room after a career-best 32-yard touchdown run. He ran 11 times for 102 yards and caught two passes for 8 yards before leaving.
