The Cincinnati Bengals lost to the Jacksonville Jaguars when the two teams previously met in October of last year, but they didn't allow Jacksonville the same satisfaction this time around. The Bengals walked away with a 33-25 victory Sunday.
RB Joe Mixon hadn't helped Cincinnati's cause all that much against the Philadelphia Eagles last week, but the same can't be said for this game. Cincinnati's Mixon was on fire, rushing for two TDs and 151 yards on 25 carries in addition to snatching one receiving TD. This was the first time Mixon has racked up 100+ rushing yards all year. Mixon's sharp performance also set his single-game rushing touchdown high for the season. QB Joe Burrow also helped out by tossing the rock for 300 yards.
Special teams collected 15 points for Cincinnati. K Randy Bullock delivered a perfect 4-for-4 game. This makes it three perfect games in a row for him.
WR D.J. Chark put forth a good effort for the losing side as he caught eight passes for two TDs and 95 yards.
Cincinnati's win brought them up to 0-2-1. The Jaguars' loss pushed them down to 1-2.
The Bengals will square off against the Baltimore Ravens at 1 p.m. ET next week at M&T Bank Stadium. Cincinnati's defense better steel itself: Baltimore is averaging 30 points per game. Jacksonville is staying on the road next week to face off against the Houston Texans at 1 p.m. ET Oct. 11 at NRG Stadium. Like Jacksonville, Houston is looking to wash their mouths of the taste of defeat after falling 31-23 to the Minnesota Vikings.
