76ers' VJ Edgecombe: Dealing with hip soreness
Edgecombe did not practice Thursday due to hip soreness, Tony Jones of The Athletic reports.
Edgecombe will be re-evaluated Thursday evening, and his status for Friday's preseason game against Orlando will be updated accordingly. Edgecombe has generated a ton of buzz throughout training camp, and coach Nick Nurse said Wednesday that he could be in the starting lineup for Opening Night alongside Tyrese Maxey and Quentim Grimes if the team decides to roll with three guards.

76ers' Paul George: Goes through contact work
George (knee) was spotted going through some contact work after Thursday's practice, Adam Aaronson of PhillyVoice.com reports.
George was getting in some 1-on-1 work with Justin Edwards, Kelly Oubre and Tyrese Maxey. He was showing some good explosion on offense, and this appears to be another positive step in the right direction regarding his rehab. The 76ers announced Wednesday that George would be integrated into team activities in the "coming days," but no official timetable for a return has been announced yet.

76ers' Trendon Watford: Remains out of practice
Watford (hamstring) was not able to practice Wednesday, Keith Pompey of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
Watford missed both preseason games in Abu Dhabi due to his right hamstring strain. Considering he's yet to be cleared to practice and won't be doing on-court stuff this week, Watford may not suit up until the regular season starts.

76ers' Paul George: Ramping up rehab
George (knee) will be integrated into team activities in the coming days, Keith Pompey of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
For now, George continues to be limited to individual work. The forward underwent surgery in July, and it's unclear if he'll be fully cleared in time for any preseason action. For now, he should be considered doubtful for Friday's exhibition against Orlando.

76ers' Joel Embiid: Goes through practice
Embiid (knee) participated in Wednesday's practice, Keith Pompey of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
Wednesday's practice contained some five-on-five drills, so this is an encouraging update for the 76ers and for Embiid's prospective fantasy managers. He does not have a concrete timetable to return, but this is certainly a step in the right direction. For now, there's no word if Embiid will feature in the preseason.

76ers' Malcolm Hill: Scores 14 points off bench
Hill finished with 14 points (5-8 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 2-3 FT), two rebounds and one steal across 14 minutes during Saturday's 113-104 loss to the Knicks.
Hill provided a strong performance off the bench, scoring a point for every minute on the floor. He was also incredibly efficient, shooting 62.5 percent.

76ers' Kennedy Chandler: Sparks bench with 16 points
Chandler racked up 16 points (5-10 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 5-7 FT), three rebounds, five assists, one steal and one block across five minutes during Saturday's 113-104 loss to the Knicks.
Chandler was incredible during his squad's second preseason game. He filled up the stat sheet in only five minutes and 25 seconds on the floor, finishing with game-high totals in points and assists. Chandler likely made an impression with his play and could merit more time as the preseason rolls on.

76ers' Tyrese Maxey: Scores 16 in preseason loss
Maxey finished with 16 points (4-10 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 5-6 FT), two rebounds, two assists and one steal across 18 minutes during Saturday's 113-104 loss to the Knicks.
Maxey made use of the limited time he was on the floor during the team's second preseason game, matching Kennedy Chandler for a game-high point total. The talented guard already looks back to form, which is a great sign for the 76ers considering their injury issues.

76ers' VJ Edgecombe: Drops 10 in loss
Edgecombe finished with 10 points (3-9 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 3-3 FT), one rebound, two assists and one block across 24 minutes during Saturday's 113-104 loss to the Knicks.
The promising young rookie cracked double digits in the scoring column, even though he struggled with his shooting. However, he has shown flashes of brilliance with his athleticism and could make an impact in his first season in Philadelphia.

76ers' Kelly Oubre: Fills up stat sheet in loss
Oubre tallied 13 points (5-12 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 1-4 FT), four rebounds, three assists, two steals and one block across 29 minutes during Saturday's 113-104 loss to the Knicks.
Oubre was all over the floor during the team's second preseason game in Abu Dhabi. He led his squad in the steals category while shooting 41.7 percent from the field and 40 percent from deep.

76ers' Trendon Watford: Held out vs. New York
Watford (hamstring) will not play Saturday against the Knicks, Adam Aaronson of PhillyVoice.com reports.
Watford was initially considered available to play in the team's second straight preseason game against New York. However, he was seen in street clothes on the bench as he continues to deal with a minor hamstring issue. The next chance for him to play will be Oct. 10 against the Magic.

76ers' Kyle Lowry: Won't play Saturday
Lowry (rest) has been ruled out for Saturday's game against the Knicks, Adam Aaronson of PhillyVoice.com reports.
Lowry will sit out a second straight game during the preseason. His absence doesn't appear to be injury-related, but rather for rest purposes. The next opportunity for him to get back on the floor will be Oct. 10 against the Magic.

76ers' Trendon Watford: Available vs. New York
Watford (hamstring) is available to play in Saturday's game against the Knicks, Adam Aaronson of PhillyVoice.com reports.
After missing Thursday's preseason opener, Watford will suit up for Saturday's matchup in Abu Dhabi. There's still a chance he doesn't see the floor, with hamstring injuries needing to be handled carefully, especially considering the team's next game won't be until Oct. 10 against the Magic.

76ers' Paul George: Remains out Saturday
George (knee) has been ruled out for Saturday's game against the Knicks, Adam Aaronson of PhillyVoice.com reports.
George continues to work towards getting back on the floor. He underwent knee surgery in July. It seems unlikely that he'll suit up during the preseason, but the next opportunity for him to play will be Oct. 10 against the Magic.

76ers' Joel Embiid: Won't play Saturday
Embiid (knee) has been ruled out for Saturday's game against the Knicks, Adam Aaronson of PhillyVoice.com reports.
Embiid continues to recover from knee surgery that cut his 2024-25 campaign short. There's no clear timetable for his return to the floor. The next chance for him to return will be Oct. 10 against the Magic.

76ers' Kyle Lowry: Sits out Thursday
Lowry (coach's decision) did not play in Thursday's preseason game versus the Knicks.
Veterans are often used sparingly in the preseason, and there's no injury to report here. Lowry agreed to a one-year, $3.63 million deal over the summer in what's expected to be the final year of his career. Heading into Opening Night, Lowry is presumably the favorite to win the backup role behind Tyrese Maxey.

76ers' Eric Gordon: Recovered from wrist surgery
Gordon (wrist) managed two points (0-4 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 2-3 FT) and one assist in 13 minutes during Thursday's 99-84 preseason loss to the Knicks.
After undergoing right wrist surgery at the end of February, the veteran sharpshooter has a clean bill of health for 2025-26. Until Jared McCain (thumb) is ready to play, it's possible Gordon will open the new campaign as part of the Philadelphia rotation.

76ers' Andre Drummond: Healthy for preseason action
Drummond (toe) had two points (1-1 FG) and three rebounds in seven minutes during Thursday's 99-84 preseason loss to the Knicks.
Drummond missed the end of last season with a toe injury, but he's back in action for the 76ers this fall. The veteran big man should be able to crack the rotation while Joel Embiid (knee) is held out from playing, though Adem Bona, who started Thursday, appears to have a leg up in the center pecking order behind Embiid.

76ers' Hunter Sallis: Plays 22 minutes from second unit
Sallis ended with eight points (2-4 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 4-4 FT), three rebounds and one assist in 22 minutes during Thursday's 99-84 preseason loss to the Knicks.
The undrafted rookie quickly netted a two-way contract with the 76ers following the NBA Draft this past June, so he has a place with the G League's Delaware Blue Coats waiting for him once the preseason comes to an end. With Jared McCain (thumb) out of commission, Sallis will likely play a key role in the Philadelphia second unit during exhibition play.

76ers' Jabari Walker: Logs 20 minutes off bench
Walker closed with nine points (2-4 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 5-6 FT), five rebounds and one block in 20 minutes during Thursday's 99-84 preseason loss to the Knicks.
Walker has a two-way contract with the 76ers, meaning he'll likely report to the G League's Delaware Blue Coats upon the conclusion of the preseason. That said, he should soak up meaningful frontcourt minutes for Philadelphia while Joel Embiid (knee) and Trendon Watford (hamstring) are on the shelf for exhibition play.
