  • Nets' Cam Thomas: Quiet outing in loss

Thomas posted nine points (3-9 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 2-5 FT), two assists, one rebound and one steal across 25 minutes during Monday's 137-109 loss to the Rockets. Following his 40-point performance in Sunday's loss to the Spurs, Thomas crashed back down to Earth in the second half of the team's back-to-back set. The 24-year-old had posted back-to-back games with at least 33 points before finishing with a season-low nine on Monday. Thomas should continue to see ample opportunities on a rebuilding Nets squad, and he's averaging 24.3 points across 28.8 minutes per game in four regular-season outings.

  • Nets' Cam Thomas: Returns to action Sunday

Thomas (face) returned in the third quarter of Sunday's game against the Spurs, per the broadcast. Thomas went to the locker room late in the first half after sustaining a facial cut, with Jalen Wilson starting the second half in his place. However, the guard returned to action at the 8:32 mark of the third quarter, though with the Nets facing a large deficit, the team may opt to rest him down the stretch in the fourth quarter.

  • Nets' Cam Thomas: Goes to locker room Sunday

Thomas (face) went to the locker room in the second quarter of Sunday's game against the Spurs, Sharif Phillips-Keaton of USA Today reports. Thomas suffered a facial cut late in the first half that sent him to the locker room. If the guard -- who's already dealing with a nasal fracture -- can't return, Tyrese Martin is in line to see an uptick in minutes at shooting guard.

  • Nets' Cam Thomas: Explodes for 33 points in loss

Thomas delivered 33 points (12-23 FG, 3-10 3Pt, 6-6 FT), two rebounds and nine assists across 35 minutes in Friday's 131-124 loss to the Cavaliers. Thomas was largely inefficient in the season opener after scoring 15 points but shooting 2-for-9 from the floor. He didn't have that problem in this loss, and Thomas should be one of the Nets' primary offensive weapons on a game-to-game basis. Thomas is expected to have the license to shoot at will and let it fly from anywhere on the court, so he might be a valuable fantasy option even if the team struggles throughout the campaign.

  • Nets' Cam Thomas: Scores 15 inefficient points

Thomas produced 15 points (2-9 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 11-13 FT), two assists, one rebound, one block and two turnovers in 24 minutes during Wednesday's 136-117 loss to the Hornets. Thomas is essentially the only player on this Brooklyn team who can create his own shot, so he's going to get all the looks he can handle this season. He could score in bunches with regularity, but his value may be limited, as he rarely brings peripheral stats to the box score.

  • Nets' Cam Thomas: Busy at free-throw line Sunday

Thomas scored a team-high 16 points (4-12 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 8-10 FT) while adding four rebounds, an assist and a block in 26 minutes during Sunday's 111-109 preseason win over the Suns in Macao. The fifth-year guard continues to put together a productive exhibition schedule as one of the focal points of the Nets' offense along with Michael Porter. Thomas will be an unrestricted free agent next offseason, so he has extra motivation to improve on the career-best 24.0 points, 3.8 assists, 3.3 boards and 2.7 threes he averaged in 2024-25, albeit in only 25 regular-season games.

  • Nets' Cam Thomas: Scores efficient 22 points

Thomas produced 22 points (7-12 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 6-6 FT), three rebounds, six assists and one steal in 24 minutes during Friday's preseason loss to the Suns. Thomas ultimately settled for a one-year qualifying offer to stay with the Nets in early September, and he's all set to reprise his role as the team's top scoring option in 2025-26. The 2021 first-rounder will be aiming to improve as a playmaker, and his six dimes Friday are certainly an encouraging sight in that regard. Health remains a concern for Thomas, given that he's never played more than 67 regular-season games in his career.

  • Nets' Cam Thomas: Signs qualifying offer

Thomas (hamstring) signed his one-year, $6 million qualifying offer with the Nets on Thursday, ESPN's Shams Charania reports. Thomas and the Nets were unable to reach a long-term agreement. By signing this qualifying offer, Thomas will have a full no-trade clause and will be able to hit unrestricted free agency next offseason. Charania notes that at least 10 NBA teams will be positioned to have ample cap space, and Thomas will have plenty of motivation to produce a big season. Thomas averaged 24.0 points, 3.8 assists and 3.3 rebounds in 31.2 minutes per game last season, but he appeared in only 25 regular-season contests because of hamstring injuries.

  • Nets' Cam Thomas: Out for rest of season

The Nets announced Saturday that Thomas has been diagnosed with a left hamstring strain and is expected to miss the remainder of 2024-25 campaign. Thomas had already been ruled out Saturday and is unlikely to suit up again this season with Brooklyn sitting in 12th place in the Eastern Conference and only four weeks remaining in the regular season. Thomas has already missed 41 games in 2024-25 due to left hamstring injuries, so the Nets will opt to play it cautiously and allow the 23-year-old guard to fully recover. Tyrese Martin and Keon Johnson will likely receive increased playing time for the remainder of the campaign.

  • Nets' Cam Thomas: Won't play Saturday

Thomas (hamstring) is out for Saturday's game versus the Celtics due to left hamstring injury management, Lucas Kaplan of NetsDaily.com reports. Thomas will sit out the first leg of Brooklyn's back-to-back Saturday as the team will opt to play it cautiously with his hamstring issue. Keon Johnson and Tyrese Martin are candidates to receive increased playing time in his absence. Thomas' next chance to suit up is Sunday's matchup with Atlanta.

  • Nets' Cam Thomas: Logs first career double-double

Thomas contributed 24 points (8-23 FG, 3-9 3Pt, 5-6 FT), 10 assists, six rebounds, one block and one steal across 32 minutes during Thursday's 116-110 loss to the Bulls. Thomas led the club in points and assists while recording his first career double-double. However, the 23-year-old struggled with efficiency Thursday, and over his last five outings, he has shot only 41.0 percent from the field and 29.8 percent from downtown. Thomas has logged four 20-plus-point outings in that five-game span, during which he has averaged 22.8 points, 5.8 assists, 2.8 three-pointers and 2.6 rebounds across 29.0 minutes per game.

  • Nets' Cam Thomas: Leads way as top scorer in return

Thomas had 27 points (10-22 FG, 4-11 3Pt, 3-3 FT), one rebound and three assists over 32 minutes during Tuesday's 109-104 loss to Cleveland. Thomas (hamstring) returned Tuesday after sitting out Monday's contest, leading all Brooklyn players on the offensive end of the floor with team-high scoring total and a team-high-tying mark from three. Thomas has recorded 25 or more points in nine contests, though this was his first time doing so since Dec. 29. He has buried four or more threes on eight occasions.

  • Nets' Cam Thomas: Good to go Tuesday

Thomas (hamstring) will be available for Tuesday's game against the Cavaliers, Sharif Phillips-Keaton of USA Today reports. After missing Monday's game against the Lakers during the front end of this back-to-back set, Thomas will be back in the lineup Tuesday. He could have extra usage coming his way as well, as D'Angelo Russell is being held out for rest purposes.

  • Nets' Cam Thomas: Won't suit up Monday vs. LAL

Thomas (hamstring) has been ruled out for Monday's game against the Lakers, Erik Slater of ClutchPoints.com reports. The Nets continue to manage Thomas' availability as he works his way back from a left hamstring strain. The 23-year-old's next chance to feature will come Tuesday against the Cavaliers. Keon Johnson and Tyrese Martin will likely see an uptick in playing time due to Thomas being sidelined.

  • Nets' Cam Thomas: Strikes for 23 against Golden State

Thomas closed Thursday's 121-119 loss to the Warriors with 23 points (8-18 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 5-6 FT), three rebounds and seven assists in 26 minutes. The fourth-year guard topped 20 points for the second straight game, and he's finding his form quickly after returning in late February from a hamstring strain. While he hasn't yet been cleared for a full workload, Thomas has still averaged 21.0 points, 4.7 assists, 2.0 boards and 2,0 threes in 24.3 minutes over three appearances since his return.

  • Nets' Cam Thomas: Leads Brooklyn in loss

Thomas posted 24 points (8-19 FG, 4-13 3Pt, 4-4 FT), six assists and one rebound over 26 minutes during Tuesday's 127-113 loss to San Antonio. Thomas led the Nets with team-high marks in points and assists Tuesday, albeit in a losing effort. The 23-year-old has appeared in only two outings since Jan. 4 due to a left hamstring injury, and the club is expected to continue managing his playing time, especially during back-to-back games. Thomas' two appearances since Jan. 4 have each come within the Nets' last three matchups, during which he has amassed 40 points, seven assists and three rebounds while shooting 15-for-36 from the field across 47 total minutes.

  • Nets' Cam Thomas: Puts up 16 points in return

Thomas (hamstring) amassed 16 points (7-17 FG, 0-4 3Pt, 2-2 FT), two rebounds and one assist across 21 minutes during Friday's 121-102 loss to Portland. Suiting up for the first time since Jan. 2 and for only the third time since the beginning of December while recovering from a left hamstring strain and a subsequent aggravation, Thomas took back his spot in the starting five. He was operating under a minute restriction and looked rusty in his return, needing 17 shots just to put up 16 points. Thomas should see his playing time pick up in the Nets' subsequent games, though he'll likely be a candidate to sit out Saturday's game in Detroit for maintenance purposes.

  • Nets' Cam Thomas: Won't return to action Wednesday

Thomas (hamstring) is out for Wednesday's game against the Thunder, Erik Slater of ClutchPoints.com reports. Thomas has been sidelined with a hamstring strain since Jan. 2, and that won't change Wednesday. The star guard's next chance to return comes Friday against Portland. In Thomas' absence against Oklahoma City, Keon Johnson should remain in the starting lineup while Tyrese Martin continues to play meaningful minutes off the bench.

  • Nets' Cam Thomas: Will remain out Monday

Thomas (hamstring) has been ruled out for Monday's game in Washington. Thomas participated in 5-on-5 scrimmages Thursday and appears close to making his first appearance since Jan. 2. However, that won't come Monday, and his status for Wednesday's game against the Thunder remains unclear. When Thomas is cleared, he'll likely take away minutes and usage from Keon Johnson and Killian Hayes.

  • Nets' Cam Thomas: Out through All-Star break

The Nets announced Friday that Thomas (hamstring) had a follow-up MRI that revealed appropriate healing. He will continue to progress with individual on-court workouts and is expected to return shortly after the All-Star break. Thomas hasn't played since Jan. 2 due to a left hamstring strain but appears to be progressing well in his recovery. In his absence, D'Angelo Russell and Keon Johnson will likely continue to receive increased playing time. Thomas' first chance to return to action after the All-Star break will come against Cleveland on Feb. 20.
