Nets' Cam Thomas: Signs qualifying offer
Thomas (hamstring) signed his one-year, $6 million qualifying offer with the Nets on Thursday, ESPN's Shams Charania reports.
Thomas and the Nets were unable to reach a long-term agreement. By signing this qualifying offer, Thomas will have a full no-trade clause and will be able to hit unrestricted free agency next offseason. Charania notes that at least 10 NBA teams will be positioned to have ample cap space, and Thomas will have plenty of motivation to produce a big season. Thomas averaged 24.0 points, 3.8 assists and 3.3 rebounds in 31.2 minutes per game last season, but he appeared in only 25 regular-season contests because of hamstring injuries.

Nets' Cam Thomas: Receives qualifying offer
The Nets extended Thomas (hamstring) a qualifying offer Sunday, Brian Lewis of the New York Post reports.
Thomas has improved statistically in each of his first four campaigns in Brooklyn, culminating in averages of 24.0 points, 3.8 assists and 3.3 rebounds per game in 2024-25. However, he appeared in only 25 regular-season games (23 starts) due to multiple injuries, including a hamstring strain that ended his season in mid-March. Thomas is expected to have a healthy offseason and be a full go for the start of the 2025-26 season, but the polarizing guard's market will be a key talking point in free agency this summer. With the move, the Nets will be able to match any deal Thomas receives.

Nets' Cam Thomas: Out for rest of season
The Nets announced Saturday that Thomas has been diagnosed with a left hamstring strain and is expected to miss the remainder of 2024-25 campaign.
Thomas had already been ruled out Saturday and is unlikely to suit up again this season with Brooklyn sitting in 12th place in the Eastern Conference and only four weeks remaining in the regular season. Thomas has already missed 41 games in 2024-25 due to left hamstring injuries, so the Nets will opt to play it cautiously and allow the 23-year-old guard to fully recover. Tyrese Martin and Keon Johnson will likely receive increased playing time for the remainder of the campaign.

Nets' Cam Thomas: Won't play Saturday
Thomas (hamstring) is out for Saturday's game versus the Celtics due to left hamstring injury management, Lucas Kaplan of NetsDaily.com reports.
Thomas will sit out the first leg of Brooklyn's back-to-back Saturday as the team will opt to play it cautiously with his hamstring issue. Keon Johnson and Tyrese Martin are candidates to receive increased playing time in his absence. Thomas' next chance to suit up is Sunday's matchup with Atlanta.

Nets' Cam Thomas: Logs first career double-double
Thomas contributed 24 points (8-23 FG, 3-9 3Pt, 5-6 FT), 10 assists, six rebounds, one block and one steal across 32 minutes during Thursday's 116-110 loss to the Bulls.
Thomas led the club in points and assists while recording his first career double-double. However, the 23-year-old struggled with efficiency Thursday, and over his last five outings, he has shot only 41.0 percent from the field and 29.8 percent from downtown. Thomas has logged four 20-plus-point outings in that five-game span, during which he has averaged 22.8 points, 5.8 assists, 2.8 three-pointers and 2.6 rebounds across 29.0 minutes per game.
