Top Cam Thomas News

  • Nets' Cam Thomas: Cruises to 29-point night

Thomas collected 29 points (9-19 FG, 4-7 3Pt, 7-7 FT), one rebound and one assist in 35 minutes during Sunday's 129-105 loss to the 76ers.

Thomas put together an impressive night in the scoring column but didn't offer up much production elsewhere, which isn't all that unusual. It was promising to see him bounce back from a pair of tough outings, totaling 28 points on 9-for-29 from the field over his previous two appearances. Expect Thomas to continue to get up plenty of looks as Brooklyn hosts Minnesota on Monday.

  • Nets' Cam Thomas: Quiet outing in loss

Thomas posted nine points (3-9 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 2-5 FT), two assists, one rebound and one steal across 25 minutes during Monday's 137-109 loss to the Rockets.

Following his 40-point performance in Sunday's loss to the Spurs, Thomas crashed back down to Earth in the second half of the team's back-to-back set. The 24-year-old had posted back-to-back games with at least 33 points before finishing with a season-low nine on Monday. Thomas should continue to see ample opportunities on a rebuilding Nets squad, and he's averaging 24.3 points across 28.8 minutes per game in four regular-season outings.

  • Nets' Cam Thomas: Erupts for 40 points

Thomas recorded 40 points (11-25 FG, 5-12 3Pt, 13-13 FT) and two rebounds across 32 minutes during Sunday's 118-107 loss to the Spurs.

Thomas did everything in his power to drag his team to a victory, but his 40-point afternoon wasn't nearly enough. He briefly exited the matchup in the second quarter after suffering a cut on his face, though he returned in the third period and managed to finish out the game. Thomas was effective from the field and racked up 13 points from the charity stripe, marking his second straight appearance recording 30-plus points.

  • Nets' Cam Thomas: Returns to action Sunday

Thomas (face) returned in the third quarter of Sunday's game against the Spurs, per the broadcast.

Thomas went to the locker room late in the first half after sustaining a facial cut, with Jalen Wilson starting the second half in his place. However, the guard returned to action at the 8:32 mark of the third quarter, though with the Nets facing a large deficit, the team may opt to rest him down the stretch in the fourth quarter.

  • Nets' Cam Thomas: Goes to locker room Sunday

Thomas (face) went to the locker room in the second quarter of Sunday's game against the Spurs, Sharif Phillips-Keaton of USA Today reports.

Thomas suffered a facial cut late in the first half that sent him to the locker room. If the guard -- who's already dealing with a nasal fracture -- can't return, Tyrese Martin is in line to see an uptick in minutes at shooting guard.

  • Nets' Cam Thomas: Available for Sunday

Thomas is dealing with a nasal fracture but will play in Sunday's game against the Spurs, Sharif Phillips-Keaton of USA Today reports.

Thomas sustained the nasal fracture in Friday's loss to Cleveland but will play on the front end of the team's back-to-back set Sunday. Through two regular-season appearances, the 24-year-old guard is averaging 24.0 points, 5.5 assists and 1.5 rebounds while shooting 43.8 percent from the field in 29.5 minutes per contest. He should remain one of the team's top offensive options alongside Michael Porter.

  • Nets' Cam Thomas: Explodes for 33 points in loss

Thomas delivered 33 points (12-23 FG, 3-10 3Pt, 6-6 FT), two rebounds and nine assists across 35 minutes in Friday's 131-124 loss to the Cavaliers.

Thomas was largely inefficient in the season opener after scoring 15 points but shooting 2-for-9 from the floor. He didn't have that problem in this loss, and Thomas should be one of the Nets' primary offensive weapons on a game-to-game basis. Thomas is expected to have the license to shoot at will and let it fly from anywhere on the court, so he might be a valuable fantasy option even if the team struggles throughout the campaign.

  • Nets' Cam Thomas: Scores 15 inefficient points

Thomas produced 15 points (2-9 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 11-13 FT), two assists, one rebound, one block and two turnovers in 24 minutes during Wednesday's 136-117 loss to the Hornets.

Thomas is essentially the only player on this Brooklyn team who can create his own shot, so he's going to get all the looks he can handle this season. He could score in bunches with regularity, but his value may be limited, as he rarely brings peripheral stats to the box score.

  • Nets' Cam Thomas: Busy at free-throw line Sunday

Thomas scored a team-high 16 points (4-12 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 8-10 FT) while adding four rebounds, an assist and a block in 26 minutes during Sunday's 111-109 preseason win over the Suns in Macao.

The fifth-year guard continues to put together a productive exhibition schedule as one of the focal points of the Nets' offense along with Michael Porter. Thomas will be an unrestricted free agent next offseason, so he has extra motivation to improve on the career-best 24.0 points, 3.8 assists, 3.3 boards and 2.7 threes he averaged in 2024-25, albeit in only 25 regular-season games.

  • Nets' Cam Thomas: Scores efficient 22 points

Thomas produced 22 points (7-12 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 6-6 FT), three rebounds, six assists and one steal in 24 minutes during Friday's preseason loss to the Suns.

Thomas ultimately settled for a one-year qualifying offer to stay with the Nets in early September, and he's all set to reprise his role as the team's top scoring option in 2025-26. The 2021 first-rounder will be aiming to improve as a playmaker, and his six dimes Friday are certainly an encouraging sight in that regard. Health remains a concern for Thomas, given that he's never played more than 67 regular-season games in his career.

  • Nets' Cam Thomas: Signs qualifying offer

Thomas (hamstring) signed his one-year, $6 million qualifying offer with the Nets on Thursday, ESPN's Shams Charania reports.

Thomas and the Nets were unable to reach a long-term agreement. By signing this qualifying offer, Thomas will have a full no-trade clause and will be able to hit unrestricted free agency next offseason. Charania notes that at least 10 NBA teams will be positioned to have ample cap space, and Thomas will have plenty of motivation to produce a big season. Thomas averaged 24.0 points, 3.8 assists and 3.3 rebounds in 31.2 minutes per game last season, but he appeared in only 25 regular-season contests because of hamstring injuries.
