Celtics' Amari Williams: Back with parent club
The Celtics recalled Williams from the G League's Maine Celtics on Wednesday.
Williams has rejoined Boston ahead of Wednesday's game against the Thunder, but he's unlikely to be featured in the rotation. The rookie second-round pick saw extended run Tuesday in Maine's 130-105 win over the Cleveland Charge, finishing with 13 points (5-9 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 1-4 FT), nine rebounds, four blocks and one assist in 27 minutes.

Celtics' Amari Williams: Recalled from G League
Williams was recalled from the G League on Sunday.
Williams will be available for Sunday's game versus the Timberwolves, but that doesn't mean he'll touch the court. Williams has been a negligible part of the Celtics' rotation this season.

Celtics' Amari Williams: Recalled to NBA
Boston recalled Williams from the G League's Maine Celtics on Friday.
Williams will likely be available to Sunday's meeting with the Timberwolves after spending a few days with the G League squad. However, the rookie has seen limited action at the NBA level over the past couple of months, and that is likely to remain the case for the rest of the season. He has been more productive when assigned to the Maine affiliate, for which his average of 10.8 rebounds per game is the highest on the team.

Celtics' Amari Williams: Recalled to NBA
Boston recalled Williams from the G League's Maine Celtics on Thursday.
Williams has rejoined the parent club after a solid G League performance in which he tallied 29 points, seven rebounds and five blocks against the Motor City Cruise. The center will now aim to earn a place in the first team's rotation, although he may not play a huge role, having made just two starts while averaging 2.4 points and 2.8 rebounds per game at the NBA level in 2026.

Celtics' Amari Williams: Assigned to G League
Williams was assigned to the G League's Maine Celtics on Monday.
Williams agreed to a two-year standard contract Thursday, though that development isn't indicative of a consistent role with Boston. The rookie has appeared in 14 NBA games (two starts) this season, averaging 1.6 points and 2.1 rebounds in 8.0 minutes per contest. With the Celtics off until Wednesday against the Bulls, Williams could be recalled in time to rejoin the parent club.

Celtics' Amari Williams: Inks standard pact with Boston
The Celtics agreed to a two-year, $2.7 million contract with Williams on Thursday, NBA reporter Marc Stein reports.
The rookie second-rounder latched on with Boston on a one-year, two-way pact this past summer, though he's now been upgraded to a standard deal. The 24-year-old big man has appeared in 13 regular-season games (two starts) so far this season, during which he has averaged 1.7 points and 2.1 rebounds in 8.2 minutes per contest. He'll continue to provide center depth for Boston behind Nikola Vucevic (recently traded), Neemias Queta and Luka Garza.

Celtics' Amari Williams: Not starting, unlikely to play Friday
Williams is not in the starting lineup for Friday's matchup with the Kings, Justin Turpin of WEEI.com reports.
Williams was included in the rotation in each of the last five games and started at center in Wednesday's loss to Atlanta while Neemias Queta out due to an illness, but Queta is back and starting Friday. The rookie two-way player doesn't look as though he'll be in line for playing time Friday, as the Celtics list him out for the contest in what's likely a measure to preserve his eligibility while he approaches his limit of 50 active games at the NBA level for the season.

Celtics' Amari Williams: Starting sans Queta
Williams will start against the Hawks on Wednesday, Justin Turpin of WEEI.com reports.
With Neemias Queta (illness) unavailable, Williams will get the starting nod for just the second time this season. The rookie second-rounder logged a career-high 26 minutes in Monday's win over Portland, during which he posted nine points (3-8 FG, 3-5 FT), seven rebounds, two blocks, one assist and one steal.

Celtics' Amari Williams: Flirts with double-double
Williams logged nine points (3-8 FG, 3-5 FT), seven rebounds, one assist, two blocks and one steal in 26 minutes during Monday's 102-94 victory over the Trail Blazers.
Williams saw plenty of opportunities to make an impact despite being bumped back to a bench role Monday night. The two-way center logged a season-high 26 minutes and contributed across the board, accounting for two of his team's four swats. It's worth noting that Luka Garza (illness) was unavailable Monday, so it wouldn't be a surprise to see Williams lose out on some playing time once Garza returns to health.

Celtics' Amari Williams: Back to bench Monday
Williams is not in the Celtics' starting lineup against the Trail Blazers on Monday, Sean Grande of NBC Sports Boston reports.
The rookie second-rounder made his first NBA start against the Bulls on Saturday, though he logged just 10 minutes while recording two points, two rebounds and one block. Williams will revert to a bench role Monday while Neemias Queta (illness) returns to the starting lineup, and the former could lose out on rotational minutes due to the return of Josh Minott (ankle).

Celtics' Amari Williams: Does little in first NBA start
Williams chipped in two points (1-1 FG), two rebounds and one block in 10 minutes during Saturday's 114-111 loss to the Bulls.
The rookie second-rounder has spent most of the 2025-26 season in the G League with the Maine Celtics, but he was given the opportunity to start Saturday while Neemias Queta -- who has been battling an illness as of late -- came off the bench. However, Williams played just 10 minutes in his first NBA start and was not on the floor for the entire fourth quarter, so there isn't a glaring need to pick up the Kentucky product off waivers as of yet.

Celtics' Amari Williams: Starting Saturday
Williams will start Saturday versus the Bulls, Sean Grande of NBC Sports Boston reports.
Williams will earn his first career start Saturday and will be joined in the first unit by Payton Pritchard, Derrick White, Jaylen Brown and Sam Hauser. Williams has been sparsely deployed by the Celtics this season, and he hasn't had any major statistical breakthroughs, but he'll get some time to shine Saturday night with a favorable matchup against Chicago.

Celtics' Amari Williams: Out with hand fracture
Williams (hand) is out for Boston's game Thursday against Bucks, Zack Cox of the Boston Herald reports.
Williams needs to miss at least one contest due to a hairline fracture in his hand. It's unclear how much time he'll be sidelined with the injury, but the two-way player appears to be getting evaluated on a day-to-day basis after missing the Maine Celtics' G League win over the Capital City Go-Go on Wednesday.

Celtics' Amari Williams: Signs two-way deal with Boston
Williams signed a two-way contract with the Celtics on Friday, Keith Smith of Spotrac.com reports.
Boston has now filled all three of their two-way roster slots. Williams was selected by the Celtics with the No. 46 overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft and figures to spend the bulk of his time in Maine playing in the G League right out of the gate.

Celtics' Amari Williams: Returning to play
Williams (rest) is available for Thursday's Summer League game against the Lakers, Gary Washburn of The Boston Globe reports.
Williams was shut down for Monday's exhibition for rest purposes, but he has received the green light to suit up Thursday night. The Kentucky product is coming off a sluggish showing in his last appearance Sunday against the Knicks, recording two points, three rebounds and two assists in 16 minutes.

Celtics' Amari Williams: Picked by Boston
Williams was selected by the Celtics with the No. 46 overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft.
After a four-year run at Drexel to begin his collegiate career, Williams delivered a solid two-way performance in his lone season at Kentucky in 2024-25, posting averages of 10.9 points, 8.5 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 1.2 blocks in 22.8 minutes per game while shooting 56.1 percent from the field in 36 contests. While he brings good size at 6-foot-11 with a 7-foot-6 wingspan, Williams' lack of foot speed and lateral quickness could hinder him at the NBA level. With the Celtics trading away Kristaps Porzingis and both Luke Kornet and Al Horford uncertain to be retained in free agency, Williams provides much-needed frontcourt depth for the Celtics. However, the Celtics aren't likely to count on him to be a regular contributor at the NBA level as a rookie, as Jonathan Givony of ESPN.com relays that the British-born center will ink a two-way deal and is expected to see most of his playing time in the G League.
