Spencer ended Saturday's 102-96 victory over the Mavericks with 17 points (6-10 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 2-2 FT), four rebounds, five assists and one steal in 24 minutes.
Spencer remains the backup point guard behind Vince Williams, having now logged at least 24 minutes in four of his past five games. He has scored at least 15 points in two of his past three appearances and is providing adequate assist and steal numbers. Those in slightly deeper formats may want to give him a look.

Grizzlies' Cam Spencer: Tallies 15 points as reserve
Spencer posted 15 points (6-10 FG, 3-7 3Pt), three assists and two rebounds across 24 minutes during Tuesday's 111-101 loss to San Antonio.
Spencer had been held in check over his previous two games heading into Tuesday's clash, putting up eight total points over that brief stretch. However, he was able to snap out of it by drilling three triples to lead the Memphis bench in scoring. Spencer continues to see solid usage in the second unit but has been inconsistent over his previous five appearances.

Spencer has been getting good usage off the bench as the backup point guard, averaging 9.5 points, 2.1 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 0.8 steals and 2.2 threes per game. When Ty Jerome (calf) inevitably returns to the mix, his role may be a little murkier, but expect Spencer to continue contributing among the second unit.

Spencer ended up leading the Grizzlies in scoring despite coming off the bench and playing only 19 minutes, as he drained five triples in his time on the court. While Spencer hasn't been the most consistent offensively, he is averaging 9.1 points, 3.2 assists, 2.2 rebounds, 0.7 steals and 2.3 threes on the season and is worth monitoring in deeper fantasy leagues moving forward.

With Ja Morant (suspension) back in action Monday, Spencer will return to the bench. Over seven regular-season appearances (one start), the second-year guard has averaged 7.1 points, 3.4 assists, 2.3 rebounds and 0.9 steals while shooting 41.4 percent from beyond the arc in 17.3 minutes per contest.

Spencer produced his best game of the young campaign with season-high marks in minutes (19) and assists (6) as the Grizzlies improved to 3-2. Spencer seems to have pulled ahead as the eighth man in the rotation, but keep in mind that the Grizzlies are currently far from full strength with several guys still injured.

Spencer took advantage of Ja Morant's absence and backup Ty Jerome playing only four minutes, pacing the team in assists (five) and three-point attempts (six). While Spencer is in competition with Javon Small for minutes, it is worth noting Small is on a two-way contract, meaning it is likely Spencer begins the regular season as the third-string point guard behind Morant and Jerome.

Grizzlies' Cam Spencer: Deal being restructured
Spencer and the Grizzlies have agreed to a four-year, $10.5 million deal, ESPN's Shams Charania reports.
Spencer previously agreed to a two-year, $4.5 million deal, but the Grizzlies were able to restructure it after recent moves inside the organization. The deal will now include three fully guaranteed years for the wing. In his second NBA season, Spencer will likely be fighting for minutes at the edge of the rotation.

Spencer agreed to a two-year, $4.5 million contract with the Grizzlies on Monday, Shams Charania of ESPN reports.
Spencer appeared in 25 regular-season games during his rookie season in 2024-25, averaging 4.2 points, 1.2 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game while making 35.8 percent of his treys. However, he proved to be too good for the G League while delivering 23.5 points, 3.6 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.0 steals per game for the Memphis Hustle in eight contests. After showing flashes of being a two-way contributor, the Grizzlies have rewarded him with a two-year deal that's fully guaranteed. Spencer should see minutes off the bench with the Grizzlies, but he's not expected to be a major contributor in fantasy.
