Jesse Edwards: Let go by Minnesota
Edwards was waived by the Timberwolves on Saturday.
Edwards signed a new two-way contract with the organization in June but will now have to explore other opportunities. The 25-year-old big man spent most of the 2024-25 campaign with the team's G League affiliate, the Iowa Wolves, during which he averaged 11.9 points, 7.5 rebounds, 1.8 blocks and 1.4 assists across 25.1 minutes per game in 34 outings.

Timberwolves' Jesse Edwards: Strong showing in SL loss
Edwards finished with 18 points (7-12 FG, 4-8 FT), eight rebounds, four blocks and one steal across 24 minutes in Saturday's 104-101 Summer League loss to the Rockets.
Edwards made an impact on both ends Saturday, finishing second on the team in scoring while leading all players in blocks. He spent most of the 2024-25 season with the Iowa Wolves in the G League, where he averaged 11.9 points, 7.5 rebounds, 1.8 blocks and 1.4 assists in 25.1 minutes across 34 appearances.

Timberwolves' Jesse Edwards: Returning to parent club
The Timberwolves transferred Edwards from the G League's Iowa Wolves on Sunday.
Edwards will rejoin the parent club ahead of Sunday's game against Detroit. The two-way center has spent a majority of the 2024-25 campaign in the G League, and he averaged 11.9 points, 7.5 rebounds and 1.8 blocks across 25.1 minutes per game in 34 outings with Iowa this season.

Timberwolves' Jesse Edwards: Inactive with ankle injury
Edwards was absent during Thursday's 108-104 G League loss to Sioux Falls due to an ankle injury.
Edwards was one one of three Wolves not present on the floor in Thursday's G League outing while recovering from an ankle sprain. Edwards has appeared in 25 contests with Iowa, averaging 12.2 points, 7.1 rebounds, 1.7 blocks and 1.5 assists per game.

Timberwolves' Jesse Edwards: Good to go Wednesday
Edwards (ankle) isn't on the injury report for Wednesday's game versus the Bulls.
Edwards has yet to make his NBA debut, as the two-way player has seen action exclusively in the G League this season. He hadn't played for the G League's Iowa Wolves since Jan. 23 due to the ankle injury, but he's apparently healthy now and will give the parent club some depth in the frontcourt Wednesday.

Edwards has signed a two-way contract with the Timberwolves, Charlie Walton of CanisHoopus.com reports.
Edwards is a 7-footer with NBA size who could eventually make an impact on a professional roster. The 24-year-old averaged 15.0 points, 8.0 rebounds, 1.7 blocks and 1.2 assists with West Virginia last season.
