Camara recorded a steal and a block for just the fourth time this season, but he had yet another subpar shooting performance, bringing his season shooting splits to 39.6 percent from the field and 30.1 percent from three. Camara struggled with efficiency from deep, hitting only three of a game-high 11 three-point attempts, but he still managed to piece together a productive all-around performance in the loss. The defensive-minded forward has bounced back nicely after a pair of tough outings Oct. 26 and Oct. 27, averaging 15.0 points, 4.3 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 2.0 steals over his past three games. While he isn't the centerpiece of the offense, Camara will continue to get scoring chances and has shown he can impact games in multiple ways when his shot isn't falling.

After nearly eking out a double-double in Portland's season opener, Camara was even more productive two nights later, finishing second among the team's starters in scoring behind Deni Avdija's 26 and tying Matisse Thybulle for the team lead in steals. Camara took a big step forward as a sophomore last season, and the 25-year-old forward might be ready for a true breakout in 2025-26.

Camara cemented his starting role last season and didn't relinquish it following Jerami Grant's return from injury. The Trail Blazers are focused on a competitive youth-based rebuild, which certainly works in Camara's favor. The trio of Camara, Grant and Deni Avdija provides an embarrassment of riches for Chauncey Billups to choose from, so some preseason tinkering with the first unit should be expected.
