Beringer accumulated 14 points (6-8 FG, 2-3 FT), four rebounds and one block across 23 minutes in Saturday's 126-116 preseason win over the Nuggets.
Beringer finished as the Timberwolves' third-leading scorer and was one of five Minnesota players to reach double figures. The No. 17 overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft will likely have a hard time carving out a steady role in Minnesota's rotation behind Rudy Gobert and Naz Reid, though he could slightly strengthen his case if he continues to impress in the preseason.

Timberwolves' Joan Beringer: Flashes shot-blocking upside in SL
Beringer averaged 6.8 points, 6.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 23.1 minutes per game over four Las Vegas Summer League appearances.
Beringer started each of his outings at center and flashed plenty of rim-protecting ability, also swatting 2.5 shots per contest during the exhibition action. The Timberwolves spent the No. 17 overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft to land Beringer, but the 18-year-old rookie big man profiles as a very raw prospect. As long as both Rudy Gobert and Naz Reid are healthy, Beringer could struggle to carve out a steady role off the bench in 2025-26.

Timberwolves' Joan Beringer: Heading to Minnesota
Beringer was selected by the Timberwolves with the No. 17 overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft.
Beringer boasts plenty of experience despite his age, as he has represented France at the youth level and posted decent numbers in Slovenia. The 18-year-old averaged 5.1 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 1.4 blocks in 18.2 minutes across 54 appearances while helping Cedevita Olimpija win the 2024-25 Slovenian Basketball Cup. Beringer needs to fill out his frame and adjust to the physicality of the NBA to make an impact at the next level, but he should have a good mentor in Rudy Gobert, another Frenchman. Beringer figures to be a depth option in the frontcourt for Minnesota and isn't expected to make a major impact in fantasy as a rookie.
